I don't think he is as long shot as people state.

He is a sophomore in college. Gostisbehere wasn't this great prospect until his junior year when he started to dominate and people could see the skill.

Also he is playing at bowling green so he isn't getting the same attention as union or other big name schools.

I would rather hang on to my assets, unless it is something like youth for youth, that fits a need.

I haven't seen the kid play at all. Just what I read and from that I wouldn't say long shot at all.

Yes I hold on to him unless part of a bigger deal. He puts up points and they say he doesn't play a soft game.

They get 12-14 minutes per night....calling their offense occasional is a compliment.

I am not saying possession numbers are everything...just saying there should be a redeeming quality from that line and I really don't see it on a consistent basis.

- YuenglingJagr

I was referring to a 4th line in general. The problem is the Flyers are playing a 4th line as a 3rd line. That's not those players fault. They're okay as a 4th line.

Comparable I heard is like Torey Krug but more physical. I have a friend that plays soccer at Bowling green and enjoys hockey so we talk every once in a while.

He says Friedman brings an offensive game. Not as dynamic as gostisbehere but will produce points. Says he can see Krug but with a little more edge in his game.

I don't know if he will be that but I would rather see instead of moving him for a player like Grabner like someone mentioned.

What do you think the odds are of the Flyers hitting big on two sub-six foot, sub 180 lb. offensive defensemen drafted in the the third round? Especially if the d-corps in a few years "might" look more like the following (in no particular order):

Del Zotto / Gudas
Gostisbehere / Morin
Sanheim / Provorov
Hagg / Alt

Grabner probably wouldn't command major-break-the-bank money to re-sign; I'd imagine he'd get a "prove-it contract" -- and with his age and family situation, he might take more years for less money to bring stability to a family.

http://www.hockeysfuture...._for_nashville_predators/

This is a list of nashvilles top prospects from 2011. One of the best d prospect pool in the league at the time. The #1 prospect on the list is playing in the khl right now. And that list was compiled 4 years after he was drafted.

#2, #3, and their #16 prospects are all on Nashville playing big minutes.

Now is not the time to be turning our d prospects into rental free agents

People earlier compared Sanheim to JBo and Keith and McDonagh. Honestly, I hope he has a better career than JBo...maybe if he was the Panthers JBo, but he's had a really up and down career. Even now, he's doing quite poorly for the Blues after a couple good years.

Anywho, I think he reminds me of Josi. A bigger Josi. Watch them in their skating style, how they shoot the puck, move around the o zone, love to join the rush. They can be eerily similar. I think his potential is Josi.

And who would be getting Vinny the puck?

I watched last night the LA and Colorado game. At even strength he is still slow. And yes he gets 2nd PP time there but he is also out there with Gaborik, Brown I believe and other threats.

And really who cares about Vinny. So Vinny is picking up some points. Is another 2 years of Vinny worth those points? Or is getting out of the deal, essentially in a buyout without future repercussions better? I'll take the cap space we are getting and continue to reshape the roster

- J35Bacher

What if Vinny doesn't retire now because he's finally being used properly?

Oh well.

He really screws LA then. They want to resign Lucic and others.

Friedman is 5"10, 175 lbs.
- Moose_15

191 pounds, actually. And he's having a great season.

http://www.bgsufalcons.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=5186

He's tied 2nd on his team in scoring with 16 points in 27 games, and is +10.

http://www.bgsufalcons.co...ckey/2015-16/teamcume.htm

Trading him at age 20 would be as dumb as trading Ghost at the same age.

Gonna stick my neck out pretty far on this one...but I have to say Lauren Hart is wearing off on me. I just don't love it every game. It really boils down to her sing "and the home..." as if it were one word. Wouldn't be considered elite in my opinion

For the record, a lot of people were psyched after Ghost's sophomore year. Then again, we didn't have Sanheim and Provorov then, either.
