Yet both can score and pass while knocking on the door of 40 years old.
- SuperSchennBros

Goggle told me that Jagr was 43.

that means he is 17 years older than Jake.

I did that in my head so it might be wrong.

Kane, yes.
Perry, yes.
If Jagr and Hossa were 26 years old again, yes.
Nash...debatable but I'm gonna say yes. Nash can score and do a lot of really good things as a big man.

Is Benn or Seguin playing wing right now?

- SuperSchennBros

Kinda weird that you leave Tarasenko off this list

What if Sanheim is as good as Ghost, but five inches taller and 25 pounds heavier?
- Feanor

Thing about Gostisbehre is he can uncork a shot for not a huge guy.

I don't think Sanheim has that cannon.

And that makes them elite somehow....

You named guys with great careers...but all that matters is right now and the future for the Flyers. Jake is an elite first line winger that is going to help the Flyers score goals and win games. The Flyers are better with him than without him and if they traded him for Nash, Perry, Jagr, Hossa, or Kessel the city would burn.

Voracek obviously isnt as old as the guys on that list, but his career projects towards that, and also has a lot of intangibles that suggest he will hold up longer than most

Yeah, Ghost has a harder slapper, but Sanheim's offensive skills are similar apart from that.

I dont understand it. His release is unreal. The power he can generate is crazy for a guy his size.

I think Sanheim's stick would snap every shot if it had as much flex as Ghost's

I will have to agree here. I think Alt gets some time at the end of this season as well....what I really wonder is who is gone though? Surely we have to take the opportunity to get rid of some of these guys
- YuenglingJagr

Yeah, my best guess on who is gone is:

Medvedev is not re-signed after this season and either Streit or Schultz, more likely Schultz due to his relatively low cap hit, is moved before next season. That would leave them starting 16-17 with a top 6 of: Streit, MDZ, Gudas (I think he gets re-signed), Ghost, Provorov and AMac, with either Alt or Manning as the #7. I think that during the season Streit will be moved and his spot will go to Morin. However, if they don't think they want to spend the $$$ to re-sign him, they could move MDZ and keep Streit to be a mentor to the kids.

Hopefully, after 16-17, they will be able to deal AMac (with some likely salary retention) and that will open up another roster spot for someone, likely to be Sanheim.

I think Sanheim can get better with adding some muscle.

I like the skill sets of all the defenders. There is a nice mix of prospects.

Over/under on how many pages of this thread are wasted discussing Jake Voracek's possibly being elite?

WHO GIVES A (frank)!!!

All I know is that he is an excellent player and we should be happy to have him on the roster.

- BiggE

We could very easily close this debate with a Jake Voracek HERO chart, and then spend countless pages arguing the merit of a HERO chart.

Kind of agree.

I think depending on where the Flyers are at the TDL and who is moved you could also maybe see Hagg up at the end of the year.

- J35Bacher

re Hagg: perhaps, but I think they'd like to see more consistency from him first.

the only explanation is that he's an actual real life ghost bear, who is possessing an undersized defenseman (but still has the strength of a bear)

Did the city burn when we traded Carter, Richards, Hartnell, JvR etc? Giroux was good before Voracek got here.
