Justice must be served!!

The fans want him in. The players want him in. He wants to be in.

NHL tells him not to play. Brilliant marketing strategy for the league.

Does anyone else think if Panarin didn't come to NHL this year and tear it up that Ghost would be a must Calder trophy winner? Or at least serious consideration for getting it? I was talking with my friend about it last night during the game and it's pretty damn impressive the points he has at his ppg rate and with almost 20 less games. My friend made the argument of "watch McDavid come back and tear it up and have his injury recovery be a factor of winning it for a nice success story for a rookie"

Gostisbehere has that same kind of hockey sense that Couturier has. He has such a knack for shutting down a play, before they can take advantage of his size, and his weakness. It kind of minimizes that disadvantage he has. I always though he was going to be a very good player with the puck, but he's better without it than I thought he would be,

Thats what has me so impressed by him.

I watched that National Championship game and the kid made great play after great play in all zones, but I didnt think it would translate the way it has. I figured he would really struggle in his own zone, but I dont think so at all..

I know its premature, and I am not saying he will be this player, but the way he controls the play- hell even dictates the play- it reminds me of Karlsson. He is a special player for sure.

I have an engineering degree, but I was able to spend 6 hours a day sitting at a desk doing work on a computer. I can't imagine having to play sports and travel across the country while doing it.

Also, the part that made me saddest was that his daughter doesn't get to do the coyote howl any more because Gary didn't want him playing a meaningless game.

The entire article just left me wondering what sound a Canadien makes

I think he's going to get some talk, but Larkin, Domi, and Eichel will get their votes. Heck, McDavid could come back and get into the talk. If Ghost had been playing all year, he's have a much better shot.

I think he's pretty much a lock for the All-Rookie Team, though.

Absolutely.. I still think when all is said and done he will get good consideration.

He is right around the same ppg range as guys like Burns, Klingberg, and Letang. Thats literally top of the crowd stuff..

Now obviously he needs to continue it the rest of the year, but either way, a .78 ppg average as a rookie d-man is beyond impressive.

Knock on wood, but I see him improving bc he seems to look better and better each week. And if our PP can get better and if our offense picks up as well his points are going to be very impressive at the end of season.

Here's a question I asked a friend yesterday:

The Flyers, historically, are terrible about drafting and developing NHL defensemen. They'd have few hits but many more misses. Bill has done several blogs about this. So the question is:

If Shayne Gostisbehere suffers a career-ending injury before playing another game, has he done enough to be considered one of the top-20 all-time defensemen drafted by the Flyers? I really think he might be.

One of the most promising things I've seen was that he worked through his wall. Taking nothing away from his on-ice talents, he seems like confidence is not an issue.

The only elite defensemen are Dan Boyle, Shea Weber, and Nick Schultz

I think so too.

I'd love to know the success rates other franchises have with developing defensemen. It really does feel like the Flyers are historically bad at it.
