I work in the muncipal field. No such things as stock options. Only benefits that can vary is the insurance package and retirement plan.

And the retirement plan here sucks because of the huge actuarial deficit.

Not for engineering firms.. maybe for a contractor if I was a partner but it comes with the risk and crazy hours. When I look at the remuneration surveys they do every year I'm in a decent spot.
