Who cares.

He should be a #1 Center in the NHL.

- Pecafan Fan

He should be, but terrien has more centres then wingers. I think galchenyuk is better at wing then DD or Eller.

Glachenyuk was almost instantly moved to the wing when he came into the league. He was drafted as a center so its like before he hits NHL ice they're killing his confidence by basically saying "we don't trust you kid". Also Therrien is still holding him back by favoring ice time to Desharnais over him. So ridiculous.
- habfanforever

Sorry that argument about him not being a center hold little water for me. That happens all the time with kids coming out of junior.

The fact that Gally can't adjust or that that killed his confidence doesn't really speak to highly about his mental toughness.

In that case management shouldn't have bs-ed us when he was drafted by saying he's our center of the future. Or at least send him back to juniors. Also when you see Desharnais getting more ice time than Galchenyuk who is clearly better at generating offense then yes, that IS on Therrien.

He probably should of spent a season or two in the minors to develop as a centre, but management saw that he was able to help the habs at 18 years of age. Very short sighted in my opinon

Therrien can only play what is given. Not MT's fault.

I'm really starting to like this Galchenyuk. Him and gallagher really seem to care. That's the guys you build a team around. Chucky is 21. When pacioretty was 21 he had like 3 goals in 55 games and now he's netting 30-40. The scoring will come. The effort is there and the skill is definitely there. Don't know who but somebody said on TV that after the girlfriend situation MB was flooded with phone calls wondering if he was available and MB shut them all down. The kid is going to be dynamite IMO.

Hes been playing the whole season with Eller and AHL plug of the day on his wings ffs

He is?

Also...WTF does what Management says to the fans have to do with him not taking the next step?

A top center should make the players on his line better. He has never done that.

I think they should have kept him in the OHL for another year, simply because he missed so much time with injuries in his last season.

He basically lost a whole year of development and then jumped to the NHL.

Its just sad that for once Montreal gets a 3rd overall pick in who knows how long and it has somehow become a problem. Count on the Habs to ruin something good.

Ya, I would agree. It's hard for a young player to make the jump at that age, especially when you aren't surrounded by a boat load of good players to help him along.

He put up 27pts in 48 games at 18 years old.

No one was talking about "he should have spent another year in junior" after his first season.

the only reason he made the jump at 18 is because it was a 40ish games season.
with a full 82 games caldendar, pretty sure they would have let him in Junior.
