Another Eichel note, currently this month he's scoring at a 0.82 ppg pace. Last month he was at 0.79, so I think it would be fair to conservatively assume he goes the rest of the year at 0.80. This would suggest in the remaining 33 games, he would score about 26 points. This would bring his rookie season total to about 58 points. About 5 points off the offseason analytics based total.

Math.

Like every damn time! If he drove the net more often, guaranteed 5-6 more points this season.

The more I actually focus in on Kane, the more frustrated I get. He just doesn't make the smartest decisions in the offensive zone. He's not bad in the defensive zone, but he just doesn't seem to realize that throwing the puck at the net at any opportunity isn't always the best decision. He needs to learn to use his teammates more, but in a sort of different way than Eichel needs to at times.

Yeah, I can see and would understand him struggling a bit the remainder/last 20 games of the season because of it (as you mentioned, 40-ish games to 82 has to be crazy), but it will mean good things as he would realize what it TRULY takes to play that much.

Pretty exciting to have such a talent. The NYR board had a few posts in awe of Eichel, so that was fun to read.

Every time I think about having a franchise talent on this team for once.

Hopefully we get lucky, Gionta retires, O'Reilly is captain, and he really starts to get on Kane (especially being linemates).

The All Star break will make him refreshed and energized I honestly think he just going to go on a crazy scoring streak

I'm going to say he lets in a goal 30 seconds in and it gets into his head

I honestly think he needs to play a 3rd line grinder role when this team is good enough.

I don't have the information handy, but just from what I have watched, it seems Eichel started slow with Kane on his wing, and now O'Reilly is slowing down offensively with Kane on his wing.

Good observation. Seems to be true. I do wonder if Reinharts game compliments ROR as well ... Not having him is a bigger takeaway than we would have imagined.
I kinda like McGinn ROR and Reinhart, rather than Kane on that line.
If that is true, then where does Kane really fit?

It looks like Girgensons allows Eichel to be the true center he is and carry the puck. Girgensons just finds open ice and patiently waits for Eichel to find him. Kane seems like he wants the puck on his stick and to be the one to carry it in the zone. I think Kane could be a great winger if he modeled his game like Ovechkin's. Big hits and powerful one timers if he just sets himself up in open ice but he's not going to stick handle in a phone booth.
