I walked across the street to Whole Foods on my lunch break because I wanted to get some produce and promptly walked right back out. JFC it was insane in there

eklund says Gagner is going to get traded.

I hope so. After all, according to Ek, he was "very impressive." Maybe we can snag a first.

Beat me to it. Really? He wasn't bad, but far from impressive.

Ek gets his game summaries from the same schizophrenic homeless man outside 7/11 who gives him his Byfuglien trade updates.

Everybody! A center breakout is not exactly new territory. There is nothing that any NHL coach today, employs system wise that is proprietary, or that hasn't been learned from other coaches, and leagues such as the Europeans.
- MJL

It's new for the Leafs, and that's all that matters, isn't it?

(And I really don't recall many teams over the years permitting their D and goalies to break out through the slot, sometimes even through the crease, with soft touch passes... that kind of poop (used to) get you benched. )

I submit that if at any point you don't have enough food and supplies in your house to last you a solid 5 days you're doing it wrong.

I have food a plenty between the freezer and cans and boxed items. plenty of bottled water and soda. just wanted a few produce items not thinking about the impending doom of a store.

Remember the good old days where you'd ride your wagon into town to buy and sell goods once every month or two? Man, I miss those times. (frank) convenience.

Well, really, having your goalie breakout through the slot would certainly be revolutionary!

The Flyers this season under Hakstol, have used a curling center breakout, at times.
As I mentioned previously the LA Kings are famous for center breakouts under Darryl Sutter.
This is today's NHL, teams are too good on the forecheck, and at sealing off the walls. The available ice is in the middle. The schemes and design are not complicated, it is the execution that is the difficult part.

I've spent a lot of time researching and looking at systems. There is enough material on the internet that it would take a long time to get through it all. There's something for just about every coach in the league, and how they play.

The Ranger use to terrorize the Flyers with Vigneault's simple over-over and quick up breakouts. Not complicated.

Check out the Kings blogger, Jason Lewis. He writes a lot of good stuff about the Kings and how they play. His latest blog points out Mike Yeo and the Wild played the Kings in the latest game, winning 3-0.

I mean this stuff is so complicated and sophisticated that bloggers like Jason Lewis and Anthony Petrielli are breaking it down.
