I still want him on the Sabres, just dont want to overpay. I mean, if Drouin goes to a second place and does this again, no one would want him, so he needs to cool his jets, but none of us know what he was told in closed door meetings, so him being upset may be from what he was told and then they did the opposite. Only a few people really know.
- Lilroot9

I would not mind him but I do not want to give away all the assets others do . Due to previous trades we are not in the position to do that right now. You can't have every shiny toy out there when building a team.

How many Drouin games have you watched? Can judge a player just from a stat sheet.

I watch them closer to the ice than you do. I win!

I have watched him enough to know he would be the 2nd most talented player on this team hands down.

People that are bashing a 20 year old for listening to his agent are being kind of ridiculous

- sbroads24

I am on the fence with this. As long as he is suspended and this keeps dragging out, the price should be coming down. Both sides are at odds, and these sound more like 'power' plays rather than procedure.

If he and his agent are worried about injury he would not have reported in the first place. While i havent seen him play myself, 7gp-2g-1a are not numbers i would expect from someone who would supposedly be the second most talented player on our roster without question.

He should be a PPG in that league with his eyes closed.

Better than not so bad imo. While watching the game I was thinking to myself, wow, this is going to piss some people on this website off if he keeps playing this way.
- Zschalberg

Yeah, well, guess I'd like to see a win before I'm converted fully.

It's great to dominate 2 periods, but to drop a dud in third kind of cancels out all of the good that came before.

I have not been watching him except for World juniors ( underwhelming )and a couple of Halifax Mooseheads games when I went to Halifax to visit my brother. Mackinnon was the player that really caught my attention .

I feel he is over priced right now and not willing to empty the cupboard for him as others are. You win for sure. Have to run a company so I cannot watch every player out there.

Because no agent has ever given a player bad advice before.

Inevitably, Drouin has to do what he feels is best for his career. If I were in his shoes, I wouldn't think sitting out when the team told me not to was a good idea.

There has to be something more to it than what we know. There has to.

Everyone and their mothers knows Drouin belongs on the TBL Roster. That includes both Drouin and Yzerman.

This isn't the first time Yzerman has gotten caught up in "Some drama" either.

It's worked out fine for other players like Kyle Turris.

In the end it only hurts the Lightning, as they wont get too much for him.

Whoever trades for him will play him in the NHL.

Yzerman shouldn't have lied to him or his agent. This isn't the 1st high profile player Yzerman has pissed off

That's a team issue. They scored 1 goal all game and stopped playing as a team in the 3rd. I know Lehner is the one that gets the L but there's no way it's on him. Score more than 1 goal if you want to win a game.

Giving up way too much for the cry baby. Besides that , every GM in the NHL has already called Yzerman and have told him don't you dare trade him . Don't want to set a precedent here that blackmail moves like this work.
- Maximum Signal

funny thats the first thing i thought, but i cant see it. pretty sure the only time the gms collude is when they agree that rfa offer sheets are dirty pool. other than that, its every man for himself, and if somebody can pry a difference making talent away for the "roy, sekera, and a second"- they do it.

I definitely agree.

But as I've said before, this whole situation has been handled very poorly by both sides. It's about as backwards and wrong as you could possibly get.

What about the St. Louis (to NYR), did he not mess that up too? It was out in the media that St. Louis only wanted to play for NYR, how is that helping?
- Lilroot9

agreed

stevie y has done a lot of damage between st louis, connolly, drouin and stamkos

Maybe he is not a good team mate . Some players no matter how talented can destroy team chemistry . Maybe that is what the gentleman for Syracuse was implying that with his comments coming from Coaches and players there?

You can bet that there are plenty of GMs that won't touch him at this point though. He's certainly not endearing himself to the league.

It very well could work out for him in the end. I just don't think he's handled it well.

And Yzerman has handled it even worse.

I use Roku with Center Ice or Gamecenter, whatever it's called. Quality is pretty good. Need to use a service to avoid the blackouts though.
- Frizzlefry

I'm in Nebraska and for some (frank)in reason all of the Avs games are blackout on Gamecenter for me... missed lastnights game.
