All sorts of names have been thrown out there . Irish suggested 3 to 4 players plus a pick. Trying to bring stable thinking into the equation.

That was the one that I said most dismissed. Plus, his price was saying Ennis, Pysyk, 2nd or variations.

- Drouin for Ennis (Girgs)/(Pysyk)Brendan Guhle & 2nd

The players in parenthesis were alternates. That's the max bid to this point and it wasn't taken very well. Most said they didn't want to give up Guhle and we had a discussion on if Girgs would be in the mix, if we wanted him in the mix, if he'd be enough, if he'd be too much, etc.

I want Drouin as a player on my team, but not because of emotion or his name or because he plays for Tampa. I want him because we need a top 6 winger on our team and I feel he can become that top 6 winger in a new scenario.

I'm going to come right out and say that there's always been something about Drouin that's rubbed me the wrong way. I can't pinpoint what it was exactly that sparked it, but it's something I haven't been able to shake.

Recent events have certainly not helped to ease that feeling.

I could be completely off base about him, but I just do not like the idea of him here. At all.

I don't think Murray is interested tbh. From his time on WGR last Friday he said it's a red flag for him when a player asks for a trade like he did. This is all likely for nothing but it's distracting and good conversation so I like it.

You can't have everyone . And we can't afford to overpay which is what Yzerman is looking for . And I want our folks to have as much information as possible before making the move . Is that hard to understand? Being saying the same thing without bad mouthing the player. You must remove the emotion of making a trade for the sake of making a trade..
- Maximum Signal

Yes... you make no sense. Obviously you cant have everyone (im not even sure who else you are referring to). We are talking about a young player on the trade block. It has nothing to do with "emotion". Yzerman wants a "similar young player" that doesnt have to equal over payment like you are suggesting.

I think he should be a college coach . Players are easier to manipulate . Pros making lots of money don't respond well to him.

Moulson has 4 over his LAST 46!

- IonSabres

Moulson has 11 games with 0 shots on goal. 12 games with 1 shot. He has 32 games out of 46 where he has 2 or fewer shots on net. Only once has he had less than 10 shifts and that was against Arizona where he actually had 3 shots. Not sure what this guy needs, but he's fallen off completely

Edit: Also, for those wondering at home, it has been 82 days and 34 GP since Moulson's last goal.

I tend to agree. but i do think he would fit a need for us. Hes certainly an upgrade over moulson, gionta ect.

Yzerman wants that player plus plus . Also is Drouin what Tim Murray wants in his vision of this team . Like to see Murray have a sit down with him before any move is made.

I get what you're saying...as I don't want a potential problem child in the organization to destroy the good chemistry to date.
That said, if we go back a year, many on here where in that same camp about Kane.
So far, Kane has been a good team member, not one with a high hockey IQ...but certainly not a problem child ( no, he hasn't been charged with anything).
With respect to Drouin now, I Would offer Ennis and stretch with a 2nd if need be to get it done. There is risk in that apparently Drouin's D game needs some work so he isn't a liability...and there's the rub if he is in fact a problem child.
I agree with Max in that the Sabres can't overpay for him as they are taking on risk which needs to be factored into the value equation.

Good luck moving either one with their no trade clauses. Actually have liked Gionta in his new role on third line last few games . Now he is not getting top minutes

Thats not what I have read. all thats been said is he want a player of comparable value. Now you could argue what comparable value would mean considering Drouin isn't that proven yet but that is the rumored asking price. That doesn't mean over payment in my eyes. And yes I think that is a valid point about Drouin maybe not fitting the mold of what Murray is looking for but its hard to imagine Murray not being at least slightly interested in him

Im not suggesting we trade one of them..Just saying he would be an upgrade. I dont mind gionta at all in a 3rd or 4th line role

This all makes too much sense.

Stop being so reasonable!!

I agree on everything you're saying. I wouldn't throw a fit if they did trade for him, depending on what exactly they had to give up to get him. He could be the guy they need to ride shotgun with Eichel. Who knows. If the price is right, anything is possible.

Ya, pieces are falling into place...Gionta on 3rd with Larson.
I really like Foligno's game the last 4 or 5...the question is ...is this another appearance and the he disappears for 10 a 15 games?
Also, Schaller and Varonne look solid...that spells the end for Legwan at trade deadline in my mind.

I think the answer yes. I think that has been Folignos problem his whole career. Not consistent enough.

Varone IMO has no future in the NHL. Schaller i think has a shot tho
