There are a lot of bad players on this team over the last four years, but we are changing them one at a time.

It's turning into a young team but I think the second and third line are turning out nicely.

Goaltending looks solid ,and Hutton is getting better game to game. Biega was a unexpected nice bottom pairing find.

We can change more parts in the summer.

Five year transition. Good start.

I don't think Cracknel is going any where. I think he seems like a better locker room guy than Prust and has quietly had a decent season considering he was not slated to even be in the NHL this year. I think for me Prust saying he was the babysitter in his travel show didn't sit well with me. He has a sense of humour but I have a feeling it wears thin on people.

I agree and he has been a really nice addition but we know Virtanen isn't going anywhere and I think with Vey's recent play they would be more concerned about losing him than Cracknell.

Without some trades I can't see them waiving anyone else to make room for Sutter and Henrik.

I couldnt remember what he said, but this is exactly what I was thinking of when I posted last thread about him being ignorant of his role. He is like every 4th line overager in Jr hockey: cocky, arrogant, and thinks too highly of his impact on others

In december he was taking needless penalties and picking fights when we were on our losing streak. I didn't like that to much especially if you're not getting on the score sheet and your line is in the minus.

Rangers thread talking about the team's apparent interest in Hansen, I don't see them dealing who they would need to make it happen for Van

First round pick and try for Mcilrath too. He has been disappointing to them but he is still young . I think he is better than Tinordi

I think the would do for both teams. Hansen has really come prove his worth.

He has value. He can score he is tenacious. He plays top 6 . If they want him they have to pay.

Drouin out as healthy scratch. Canucks had scouts there to see him.

They don't have a 1st this year and I doubt they would give another up at this point, especially for Hansen.

Would love to get Skjei but I think we would need to add.

If they are not willing to put out then Hansen will be very useful helping develop the 2 nd and Third line.

Honestly there have been lots of pleasant surprises over past 12 months.

Hutton and Biega as you mentioned.

Cracknell has exceeded expectations (0).

JV and JM after rocky starts have proven they belong in the bigs.

Both goalies have earned their paychecks.

The Sedins have taken plenty of abuse from media and critiques from fans. They have smashed expectations this year.

I would add Sbisa and Hansen as pleasant surprises as well for this year.
Heck, even Vey is turning things around

Disappointments - Vrbata, Burrows, Higgens, Prust.
Hopefully 3/4 are gone next by next year.
I don't see how we get out of Burr's contract.

I don't think there is any chance Drouin goes cheap, I know he has struggled and the optics are ugly but I'm sure he will still get a good return.

I could see a swap for another under-performing young player, Yakapov, Lindholm, Girgensons etc.

Miller has played phenomenal the last two games but to earn his pay, he would need to do that more often. I also don't know that Virtanen has proved he belongs in the bigs. Not saying he doesn't belong but still early to call him a regular.

That said, I agree this has been an entertaining half season so far and couldn't of asked for much more.
