Just because Yzerman says that he didn't say that, doesn't make it true. I also don't believe everything that Allan Walsh posted is true. No one will know the truth, but either way, what a mess this is.

I agree but Allen Walsh has a history of this sh!t. I tend to lean that Yzerman is doing what he said.

Yzerman doesn't have a perfect history either though. Look at the MSL situation. Look at that AWFUL contract he signed with Callahan right after. Look at the Stamkos situation. He is no perfect GM either.

The ball is in Stamko's court, not a lot SY can do if he doesn't want to re-sign with Tampa and doesn't waive his no trade clause.

Can you imagine Benning was having this situation with Horvat? The female doging would be intolerable. Not sure how Stevie gets a pass with the multiple mistakes he has made in Tampa. That said, plenty of blaim to go around

MSL was a whiny little prima donna throwing a hissy fit because he wasn't intially selected for the Olympic hockey team. Apples & oranges, man.

No GM is, we may never know what really is going on behind closed doors there, I wonder if maybe some of this is coming from Jeff Vinck, the owner of the TBL, I heard he's a really hard person to work for and under.

Well either way, there is no point leaning towards either side until we see what Yzerman gets in return for Drouin. This just looks terrible on the franchise.

I think all 3 situations are distincly different.
MSL was an Olympic freak out.
Stamkos earned the right under the current CBA to explore free agency while he has a NTC.
Drouin has proven little beyond 'potential' but is behaving like a spoilt child with very bad advise.
I'm not a SY apologist just think that each scenario is rather different from each other.

Oh I am not giving him a free pass either. For exactly what you stated and more. I am however leaning away from Drouin being the biggest b!tch in this p!ssing contest.

There is no doubt. I don't think people really understand the influence management and ownership have on the decisions of the GM. I garuntee Francisco Aquipisshead has had many things to say to in regards to how he wants the team to look and play. (AKA, no loss in ticket sales)

Doesn't really mater who is right and who is wrong. All that maters is that the next Seguin has lowered his trade value. Go get it done Vante.... er I mean Jimmy B.

Shink or Baert, Hamhuis (50% retained) Vrabata (50% retained) Weber and Vey
The new top notch package

On another note, So how are Millers 3-4 Goals against working out, Thunda?

Move him at the draft (50%) retained for a 25-30 OA pick?

If Zalewski can pull a Biega, I see Prust being waived by the ASG or traded.

I don't retain salary.

I keep Miller unless Sanjose offers up a prospect D in Mueller or Arizona a RW in Merkley. These are the only places I see Miller and the Canucks agreeing on.

No retained salary? even on an expiring contract? you have to pay that money anyways, why not get a better asset by buying more value with it?

Because it makes me look weak as a GM in the eyes of my peers and my boss.

I disagree, I think it shows versatility in dealing. Sometimes deals just dont come together and I think showing the willingness to eat salaries makes more of your assets look desirable (as they would be lower cap hits) and would be more comfortable giving away quality
