I want nothing to do with that whiny brat. At this point in time, I wouldn't trade Mike Weber for him.

they said a trade is coming as long as you don't get injured

I don't see the big deal, since this is the only way he won't get injured

I do and I would. I don't see this as much as whiny as I do smart. He wants to be traded. He did it the right way by asking quietly. It took too long and they went public. Now he's sitting to try to force it. He's not the first and won't be the last. Yzerman deserves as much, if not more of the blame for this. He's touted as a good GM already but his track record isn't the best.

St Louis situation
Callahan contract
Stamkos situation
Drouin situation

I don't know the ins and outs of what's really going on in TB. I also know Tim Murray said that a player asking for a trade like that raises red flags to him so I don't think we're trying to get him. But I do know he was drafted 3rd and even though a lot of people don't think he's produced he has 40 points in 89 games (.449p/g) Reinhart has 21 in 56 (.375p/g) and we're happy with his production.

I take a flyer on him. If it costs a 2nd and a player then I do it. I think he can be a good player and needs a change of scenery. I don't think we'll get him, but I would love if we did.

if he is after the money, do you give him 6 years 27 mil

sounds like that is what he wants and in 3 years you have moulson light

3 years 12 mill total, take it or have your bags ready to pack come deadline day

- homiedclown

6 years far too long I feel. Too much chance to be taken and I doubt he gets that type of term elsewhere either. He isn't exactly Top 6 and isn't exactly bottom 6. He's a Mid 6? Either way 3 for 12 I'm all in. That sounds about right...sign or pack em.

"Have you watched the games? And he's not getting Moulson's five years. No one will give him more than three."

From Mike Harrington. I know it's just his opinion but if that's the case I say no doubt about it offer 3 years 5 million a year

Incorrect. Tampa told him a trade was coming. Him and his agent then proposed to the team that he not play, to prevent getting injured. Tampa declined the proposal.

He needs to put his big boy pants on and just do what's asked of him. He's yet to prove over the course of his very young career, that he's actually capable of doing that.

I don't want that toxic attitude here. He's an entitled pain in the ass and we don't need that here.

I don't see why the people in print media have to belittle anyone who has a question or an opinion. Can't wait for that place to go out of business.

If he makes it to free agency a team could overpay. It always happens. I just don't want to be that team for him. Honestly, I liked Chris Stewart better and we didn't keep him. Sign him or trade him, either way I'm good with it. I'd rather it be less than 5 million and 3 years max.

When you're an established player in the league, you can ask for trades and such. He's nowhere near established and isn't doing himself any favors.

And don't get me wrong, I'm about 99% certain that Tampa has also handled this as poorly as can be as well. Neither side has handled it well. But Drouin didn't do himself any favors by not doing what was requested of him by the team.

Per his agent, which is obviously biased, he did do what they asked. He went to the AHL, proved he was healthy and did what they said.

I think Drouin is doing the best thing for him as a player right now. He can't get hurt, is hurting his asking price, and trying to force the hand of Tampa. Will it work? I don't think so. But waiting on the trade will only hurt Tampa too. Yzerman might decide to just keep him suspended which he has a right to do, but that won't help Tampa. The longer he sits, the lower the price goes.

This trade was asked for months ago. Yzerman wants his full value and "won't be bullied" and blah blah blah. At some point you have to realize a small loss is better than a big one and he might learn that twice with Stamkos and Drouin in one year. Reigning GM of the year and the dysfunction in that organization is astounding.
