Lebrun mentioned him among the players Murray's ready to deal.
- Sabresfan-365

It's speculation based on Murray's typical attitude to move vets for younger assets or picks. No one was named specifically by Murray, as you'd expect. I don't think this is an automatic ticket out of town like some may suggest, but it's certainly possible.

Sounds like the lottery in NYS.

If only they showed you the real numbers. People shouldn't be represented by salaries, they should be represented by take home.

Here's a quick glance at what players actually get paid.

Rick Westhead ‏@rwesthead 18m18 minutes ago
Escrow of 22% means an NHL player making $5M loses $1.1M off top. After taxes, agent fees, take-home of about $1.9M.

- TheSabresTaco

If I did my math right, that's $69, 500+ per hour based on a player getting 20 minutes of TOI per game and playing in 82 games.

Obviously there's more to being an athlete than merely the minutes you're playing the game, just wanted to throw that figure out there.

That's why it's called "Gross" pay. It's gross when you see what you could take home vs what you actually take home.. Sickening .

That's just a paycheck thing though. The escrows are distributed pro rata in the offseason depending on the success in hitting revenue projections.

They do more than just play 20 minutes every few days for 6 months though. Granted, it's basically working out, practice and probably some form of studying, but I imagine they're pretty active.

Not to mention their charitable things many do.

You have to count practice and team activities (weight room sessions, film sessions, even charitable events) as well though.

Losing sucked but the game was fun and we were competetive 2/3 of the game. Would have liked to win but Lehner looked good, the goal was Kane from Eichel and ROR, and we almost came away with a point. To me, that game was as good of a showing in a loss I've seen.

The talent is starting to show and it's nice to see.

Side note: Reinhart looked really confident carrying the puck and activating in the play. Hopefully he doesn't miss extended time and is back after the all star break.

I didn't watch last night. Probably only saw the first 5-10 minutes of the 1st period and then I fell asleep. Did he get hurt last night?

He had a collision with a Colorado player and got the worst of it. Stayed down on the ice for a few seconds afterwards and didn't play in the 3rd. Didn't seem that big but he wasn't looking when he ran into him.
