For me its McGinn, you can get a solid draft pick for him that can be flipped to help in a package to get a Dman.

If you go the Dman trade route, you always have to over pay for any Dman of quality. Do you think the Duck would move Fowler? Maybe if they are desperate to fix their Winger issues. Need as many assets you can get to over pay so you don't deplete the farm

If it's not a top 3 i bet the 1st rounder is in play. Could bring in someone great.

unload at the deadline, get the assets what you can get. Lehner impressed me tonight, he looked sharp.

But thats hockey sometimes, played a good game but just don't get the reward of the W.

- DDM-Coga

Lehner probably needs a little time to really get his game on. I thought he got real out of position on a few scrambled plays. But a bad goalie would have been scored on 3 or 4 times in those situations.
I actually wanted to see O'Rilley be "the Factor" tonight, you know?

When you have one game left against Detroit of all teams and then have to sit without sports for what is it a week? Week and a half? Of no hockey it's infuriating to lose a game we should have won. At the very, very least deserved to get at least 1 point out of that game.

Why should we have won? We got dominated in the 3rd

like could you package McGinn and Franson together to try to scoop up a late 1st round pick? Certainly could which could help give options at the draft to try and land a dman with more than one 1st rounder in play

Dan Bylsma has no initial time frame for Sam Reinhart, who suffered upper-body injury. Will be evaluated when arrive in Buffalo."

I hate how hockey handles injuries... It was clear to everyone that he got possibly cut near the mouth? The Sabres medical team straps the dreaded "upper body injury" tag on him and now we're all left in the dark about if he has a big injury or not.

Would certainly be ideal, im guessing they'll have to retain some salary to make it work but for a 1st i think thats worth it.

Im thinking big. Like Shattenkirk/Vlasic/one of the ducks d-men big.

I'm not touching McGinn. Players like that don't grow on trees. He's been outstanding for us this year. Outskilling so callled skill players and playing the other parts of his game he was originally traded here for. I'm not risking the old trade a player and resign him in the offseason bit. That is more rare than most Sabres fans would think.

McGinn? Certainly sounds like they're ready to move on.

Where did you read that they are ready to move on from him? I've seen nor heard nothing about that fact.

they need to extend him, or trade him

I am fine giving him 3 year 12 mil, but the contract needs to be 3 years or less

Should have won because we had the lead going into the 3rd and blew it. That's why I was so pissed. Both goals given up we're mental errors by Lehner on the first and Pysyk on the second. We definitely deserved to get a point out of the game there's no argument there.

I just don't want to hear "concussion."
If he lost some teeth, I assume he would be back out.
And it kinda looked like he smacked head on head with who ever it was he collided with.

Honestly, I don't think they ever took place. We would have heard something (even minor) about it. Sounds to me like he wants to cash in and they don't want to be the team to do it.

Murray would be foolish to not at least try and talk to his camp before the deadline to see if he's open to playing here. I don't want another year like last year of filling in bums to play that role and "hope" they can score goals...

no I think thats just more speculating talk by the insiders. Ive read that you guys would like to resign him but also know that he would bring the biggest return in tradable assets coming towards the deadline.

I do think hes traded, especially if the gap to make a late season push is just too much near the deadline

Murray said in an ESPN interview that everyone who is a UFA is in play.
He has no plans to let anyone walk for free.
I could see a trade and sign with McGinn unless someone who has the cap space can afford to throw money at him.
In which case, I don't blame him for taking the money.

especially with the cap being an unknown right now, he could be leaving money on the table by signing too early. I think if he isn't traded he could easily be resigned closer to the draft once he talks to other teams

But thats the risk, letting him walk for nothing if he gets to UFA, I think he at least talks to other teams during the courting period. Guy could really haul in a nice chunk of change if he plays his cards right

he said that last year though and turned down an offer for Meszaros, or so I heard
