If I was Drouin right now, under these circumstances, I'd go home and wait for a trade. Skate, work out and keep busy.
I think coming back to play in the Tampa organization gets you nothing now. That ship has sailed. Why should he go and chance a career ending injury for a club that's made it clear they don't want him and who he has no plans on playing for long term. - mayorofangrytown
I agree. Unfortunately that's the path that Drouin and Walsh have chosen. Only way I'd move him prior to the draft is if a team literally knocked my socks off. |

Yeah. That would be my stand from both sides. Complete and utter stand off until someone in the league blinks.
Would you consider the 4th or 5th overall pick or do you think Yzerman would want that sweetened? |

I'd consider it. I think you get a player similar to Drouin at 4 or 5 this draft. Probably Tkachuk or Chychrun, if not Laine or Puljujarvi |

He'd consider it given it resets the ELC and allows him to sign or resign other players he may want to keep before he'd have to address this new player's next deal. |

But I wouldn't accept just that pick by itself. |

The fact that Medvedev had another yuck game minus a sweet pass and a stick save tells me Manning is back in. He played only a shift or two at evens the entire third. Tbh, the goals and called back goals that went in on them were probably as much or more the forwards faults than their's. But the pairing was bad apart from the goals.
Ghost-Medvedev just seems to always look awful when the puck gets in the D zone and they don't break it up at the blue line. During Medvedev's successful stretch he was playing LD. He's playing RD with Ghost on his off side. I wonder if he feels uncomfortable there. Because he does not seem at ALL like the same player. Could be they each share the same strengths and weaknesses; could be Medvedev has just been bad in a vacuum. Three subpar games just screams "scratch." It was funny to see the CSN crew raving about his team best +/- though. I've been a fan of his for a lot of the season, but if THAT isn't incredibly deceptive...
Not easy to play in the defensive zone with Ghost , but he brings so much the other way , never happen but would like to see Ghost take a few shifts on wing for Umberger, but agree time for Medvdev to take a rest , might bring him back with a better game as he has all the tools, maybe the grind of the NHL schedule is getting to him, common knowledge that NHL is a tougher grind . Hope to see Nevy in net as well. |

An interesting little tidbit about Drouin. He has accrued only 38 games thus far this season. He would need to play in two more in order to be eligible for UFA in 2021. If the Lightning hold onto him until the offseason, it will delay his FA status by 1 year. |

He will be moved. Yzerman needs to make a move sooner rather than later at this point. I would be surprised if he isn't moved within the next week. |

I'm not a fan of the pairing. personally I would like to see ghost with a steady veteran. Medvedev has been the most up and down dman. He has games where he is really good and games where he is really bad. no inbetween. even up and down within the game itself. I get that there is an adjustment period but he isn't a kid. I think I just expected more
