"Hudson Fasching went to the doorstep for his 12th and 13th goals of the year as Minnesota got past Michigan State 5-2. Fasching has back-to-back two-goal games to give him a team-leading 22 points through his first 20 games played."

I think if we got Lehner for a 2016 second, people would be less pissed

Murray's stamp on this team will be how Kane, Lehner, and Fasching produce IMO

- homiedclown

Well put
I'd also add Bogosian to that list though

Lecavalier has 3 goals in 6 games with Kings. He had 3 in his final 34 with Philly, dating to last season.

PPG in the ncaa is NOT that big of a deal...
Fasching is actually tied for 41st in scoring

O'Reilly, Reinhart again and Eichel may have something to say about that? I know the latter 2 were obvious picks but, we had to finish last to get them. Easier said than done and I'm not joking

Touché
But for comparisons sake...
Compher has 32pts in 21 games

Fasching is pretty good around the net, so I do have hopes for him...
But he's got a LONG way to go before he'll be an NHL regular, IF he ever gets there

I admit I have not followed the kings much this year but...

hoff is benched, mcbain is playing

Yeah they're talking about him like he's a legitimate, everyday NHLer. Who'd a thunk it?

I love how a bunch of people are just penciling him in for a top 6 spot next year already. That's just bananas at this point.

There is little chance Fasching even makes the Sabres team next year, and ZERO chance he's in the top6
I don't mean to sound overly down on him, bc he does have a chance to be a top6 guy...
Just not NEXT year
He's gonna need time in the AHL
We haven't been rushing development of other guys, and I don't see us doing that in this case either

I don't wanna speak for him...
But I think he was saying the guys who look 50/50 will be the determine factor

ROR, Eichel & Reinhart are already looking like a lock to be successful core players for us

"Insults your intelligence"

Hahaha

How many more games has Lehner played in the NHL than Ullmark?
And u wanna say Ullmark is more proven
Sorry to be rude...
But I don't see the "intelligence" in that line of thinking
Lehner was rookie of the year
And Ulmark has barely played in N.america at all

I can understand u not liking Lehner, but saying he's more unproven than Ullmark is flat out wrong

(Although I do have more hope for Ullmark as our future #1 than I do with Lehner)

- jdfitz77

They're both supposed to have incredibly high ceilings. Both have shown to play outstanding in the past (One more recently than the other...). However, I really like Ullmark so far, especially coming back from hip surgery, and agree that he has a good chance at being our #1 someday.

The trade for Lehner was pretty polarizing for the fan base, so it goes without saying that he will be scrutinized from the get go. Just how it is. You give up big, people want big results. If he comes out and shuts everyone up, fantastic. If he gets to be the starter next year and poops the bed; people are gonna be PIIISSSSSEDD. Just my two cents.

I agree with all of that

If Lehner doesn't work out, and Murray still thinks Ullmark isn't necessarily ready to be a #1 yet...
Bishop from Tampa will be UFA after next season (with their Cap issues, it all but certain they'll be going with the cheaper, younger Vasilevskiy when Bishop's contract is up)
He'll be 30 I believe, so a little old
But if he's just the placeholder for a few years (3year deal?), that would allow Ullmark to potentially ease his way into the starters role

That's entirely my point, you're still saying that ROR and McGinn matter less than if Lehner and Kane pan out.

You're setting aside what looks to be a great deal and weighting what may not be more.

This next bit is more of a general statement not directly aimed at you JD.

Murray still comes out ahead even if Kane is "just" a 20-25 goal 40-45 point guy based on his play style alone. I'll take Kane over Stafford and Armia every day of the week.
Lemieux can't seem to go 10 games without trying to decapitate someone and he was never going to play here.
Myers really isn't missed much at all with the emergence of Ristolainen, sure we could be like Nashville and stock up on defense, but they can't score any (frank)ing goals. And as surprising as it sounds, the Sabres have allowed 4 less goals than Nashville in the same amount of games.
Murray was able to take the shot on Lehner, because our goaltending depth has been promising for a few years now, they just need/needed time to develop a little bit. It's not like the pipeline was dry and he's pinning the franchise on Lehner like a ton of people are acting like.
People will female dog and moan that Rochester sucks and there's no one there, but that's because everyone is up here. Players that are up and under 23: Eichel, Reinhart, Pysyk, Ristolainen, McCabe, Girgensons and Larsson, those are some pretty damn good players that age wise half would be in the minors, and we have a handful of Junior and College players that will make the jump to the AHL and maybe in a few cases to the NHL-looking at you Guhle!- in the next 2 years.

So it's a bit of an illusion that the cupboards are bare. Dinner's on the table, and maybe it's not filet mignon and lobster quite yet, but maybe a nice pork tenderloin with some garlic mashed potatoes and maybe some pan fried green beans or asparagus with garlic and some roasted carrots(I'm super hungry for some reason at 4 am I'm not drunk and I don't smoke pot. Hmm, whatever) and the kids(didn't want to say wife and get bashed) are on their way home from Tops(Maybe not quite as nice as Wegmans, but better than PriceRite) with the groceries to restock the cupboards. A little metaphor to help out for ya.

It's a long season yet, we've still got another 11ish weeks to go. I think we need to institute Goose's idea of no female doging on off-days and wins, and I wouldn't be opposed to handing out 1 game bans for a second infraction, or a "retaliation", and 2 games for the next time and increasing by one game per subsequent infraction. When we lose and for the day after, go nuts. But on off days that aren't directly after losses, and wins, please, respectfully, STFU everyone.

That first point is amazing, and points to how this really is a game of inches, and of perceptions. Our team D is so much improved over the last 3 years.

Another good point on the goalies...we have some really highly regarded prospects in our system but no one clear leader in net, so unless they were able to keep Neuvirth from last year, our only hope was pinning this whole year and probably the next 2 on a career backup (like Johnson) OR swinging for a younger goalie with some track record to be the guy for at least 2 or 3 years. If that guy becomes our long term starter, then awesome...if not, at least there will be some competition coming soon.

Really looking forward to tonights game. Looks like Zads got called up so we'll have a chance to see how both he and Grigo have come along.

After the win in ARI, I'm feeling good about the team again and think they are feeling good about themselves.

Get your naps in kids - 100:00pm start.

Good post. However, if dinner is on the table then why aren't we eating? That's the problem, we took all the food out of the cupboards to rush dinner, and it doesn't taste too good. Is it premature, probably yes, but so far this is not gourmet.

As far as complaints, isn't that what the site is all about?

I took over the #2 spot vs the #2 guy 2 weeks ago. Looking at the rest of season , I have a great chance of winning out.
