What did you think about your buddy taking a run at Henrik Sedin...? - lumlums
I realllly didn't think that was worthy of a major at all. A 2min boarding call sure, but he didn't drive him in head-first. The call was a product of who the player was and how long he laid on the ice. |

Talking with my buddy from Montreal yesterday about how the Habs are dealing with a very Leafs-esque problem right now, in their own versions of Kessel and Kadri.
Pacioretty is basically a non-out-of-shape Kessel, highly streaky, terrible with the media, lapses of zero effort when not on offense, doesn't make those around him better, etc.
Whereas Galchenyuk is Kadri, in that many in MTL have this overinflated image/hope for him as some sort of saviour even though the reality is he is simply a very average player and, like Kadri, still can't lock down a solid 200ft game.
It both fun and sad to see my Montreal buddies just melting down right now. They are all furious with Bergevin and his complete lack of recognizing their issues and overestimating the team's talent level.
The next 5 weeks will be so interesting to watch for them. - mcleafs

I still don't understand the buyout at all. Sure he's not the best player on the team (although arguably he was), but the guy played with just as much heart as Leo Komarov |

He was more saying his frustration is the notion that these guys are enough to carry the team if it wasn't for Therrien, when the reality is they aren't good enough on their own and Bergevin hasn't done anything about it.
He's mainly losing it because this season is borderline a write off and the Habs have only two more years til they need to give Price a massive deal... and then Pacioretty the year after that, with a cap that might not go up huge amounts in the next 3-5 years due to the Canadian dollar. |

Me too. He'd be pricey, but could be worth it. |

Does Dumba play on the same side as Rielly? A Gardiner for Dumba swap is worth exploring as the basis for a deal |

Grabo woulda been good under babs, i agree.
he likes hard working players, unlike randy who liked a guy to help with the pop tarts at the toaster (aka phil) |

Thanks! Leafs really need goalscoring with JVR out though if anything. Our guys are too streaky. |

Who is the other cheaper 50pts center? I can't find a leafs center that had 50. - burn
Bozak had 3 or 4 years of being on pace for 50+ .64/game .61/game .84/game .71/game not too bad IMO.
Sure he's had some injuries, that can happen to anyone.

Rundblad carried him, but Rundblad couldn't adjust to the speed of the NHL. He needs too much time to do anything. Erixon was a jack of all trades and sometimes that just means you're mediocre at the next level like Gormley. |

I'd love to get either, but I prefer Dumba only cuz as a right handed shot, he'd be a perfect partner for Rielly moving forward. Polak and Robidas are done and nobody knows what Corrado will become. |
