even then, i'm also not sure about trading one of the few guys who was internally developed; a guy who paid his dues in the ahl and earned his nhl roster spot.

Fair arguement. I have never been a Kadri fan, but that comparison is apt. The risk of trading him is similar.

Talking with my buddy from Montreal yesterday about how the Habs are dealing with a very Leafs-esque problem right now, in their own versions of Kessel and Kadri.

Pacioretty is basically a non-out-of-shape Kessel, highly streaky, terrible with the media, lapses of zero effort when not on offense, doesn't make those around him better, etc.

Whereas Galchenyuk is Kadri, in that many in MTL have this overinflated image/hope for him as some sort of saviour even though the reality is he is simply a very average player and, like Kadri, still can't lock down a solid 200ft game.

It both fun and sad to see my Montreal buddies just melting down right now. They are all furious with Bergevin and his complete lack of recognizing their issues and overestimating the team's talent level.

The next 5 weeks will be so interesting to watch for them.
