Yeah, this is kinda why I hope they really are just out for D and picks (I think I've sung this song before!?) or just hold on otherwise with the young guys. But I think if McCann is bringing back Shattenkirk in a package, for example, I'm into that.

I'd move Sutter in a package for him in a heartbeat.

No I do definetly want Bo as the 2 guy, my worry is we don't have a 1 going forward.
- neem55

Not many teams do.

I don't want Kadri here, especially at the price they would want. McCann has played 41 games and you are already convinced he will never be a #1C, that is so typical Canuck fan.

I like McCann, in general, I just like Bo more and I'm not convinced either can be a 1C. Bo I can for sure see as a 2C however. Is Kadri a number 1 in a few years? My gut says yes, actually. That being said, Kadri is also up for a new contract isn't he? So that creates a whole new scenario depending on what moves JB is able to pull off between now and the draft.
- neem55

I'd hang on to McCann and Bo. They are just getting started. We don't know what they can do, so let them grow up together. I think Kadri would improve the Canucks now, but not enough to make a difference. He'll want a bunch of money soon and then we'd have given up more young guys to stay mediocre.

I think Vey and MCCann would make good line mates with Etem. You could have Vey and MCCann sharing right left face off duties. I don't like MCCann Cracknell Prust

I like Sutter, it`s funny cause I didn`t before he started here
As long as he stays healthy I`ve liked what he brings.

Maybe it's just Cracknell and Prust in general

One of those guys might develop into a #1. McCann would be my bet, but he needs to fill out a bit.

Sutter's a decent player but he's a 3C, at best a low end 2. Those other guys are all better or will be shortly.

The risk is Kadri is as good as he is going to be. I'm not sure that's true or not, as I mentioned I really like what he's done this year on a pretty bad team. Bozak gets the credit, Kadri plays the defense, gets dirty hands and draws the penalties. Bozak will get moved and show himself to be an overpaid #3C, that's not quite good enough defensively or offensively. Kadri I think deployed with less responsibility might thrive.

McCann and Bo both have a ways until they are as good positionally as Sutter, he's not flashy but he plays an annoying game, with long reach and good position that is solid IMO. Agree that he is 3 or 2, but I like him in those spots.

Here's an offer I would make to the Habs

Vrbata for their second round pick

Jordan Subban and Shink for Noah Juulsen

We have too many small forwards and montreal need scoring.

Juulsen is from Abbotsford drafted 26 th overall and is 6'2 RHD

- VANTEL

I like them. I would prefer to keep Subban and toss in something else although we dont have much else. I almost shink would get that deal done solo.

What do people think of Kadri to the Canucks via Eklund

They have a little ways to go but we're talking about 19 and 20 years old vs a guy that's about to turn 27. If you're measuring potential it's not even close. I'd send Sutter packing well before either of those guys.

If it was McCann and Gaunce, subban or Shink I'd be on board.
- neem55

He is basically an older McCann so I dont do that deal. Our time is not this year or next its a couple years. Younger not older is the way to go.

As much as I don't mind dismantling the team (Pumpkin!) I do think that players learn from other players more than coaches, and Sutter brings a lot there IMO.

Benning did not sign Sutter as a third line centre.

I honestly believe Bo MCCann Sutter and Vey will be fine . We are strong down the middle for years. Don't need Kadri

me too.

i wouldn't touch Kadri. In a cap world you need guys that are willing to take less to stay with your team. He seems to always want to max out his contracts each and every time he's up for a new one..... and the fact that he's probably not that far from UFA if you want to keep him you'll have to spend a lot to keep him.

I think he signed him for various reasons, but in the end I don't disagree that we've got a lot bigger fish to fry in terms of how to use our assets. D and picks ftw!

They can learn from the Sedins more than anyone else. If we were to win the lottery this year and pick Matthews, we'd have to move a C realistically.

I know which one i'd be moving.

These aren't bad points. I think he's making 6 mil on his next contract at least.

that would be too much for my liking. I don't see him as a true number one. I think he's just an above average #2. Can't pay that type of player 6mil

I agree, but let's call a spade a spade. hank teaching defensive technique is not as useful as Sutter (I'm keeping this description PG)
