Right now Plot is no better than anyone playing right now. Maybe at best he's equal to Kluchnacl - hipcheck_goalie
He's lightyear better than Porter, every human being from the age of 9-50 is. |

I'm all in favor of improving the D. But not at the expense of the franchise goalie, and I don't see any other way to add a top 4 D. - hardnosed
It is rather difficult to fathom without parting with either goalie at this point, which is not ideal. |

Porter is better than Plotnikov, he is quicker, makes better decisions and I see alot more chances develop from direct plays Porter makes than I have ever seen from Plotnikov.
They should just send Plotnikov to WBS so he terminates his contract and goes back to the KHL and you stop talking out your @ss |

I like to think Kunitz reads these boards and his recent goal burst is in direct response to my dogging. - Victoro311
I think Sid is back! And Kuni is reaping all the benefits. They are both playing with so much more confidence. Those two were like Andy Dufresne and Red getting out of Shawshank, getting out from HCMJ's system! |

The reality is that some players are better suited to do what Sully wants and I don't believe Plotnikov is one of those guys. It's unfortunate because he made a great effort to succeed in the NHL, but I think it is turning out to be a mistake. |

Tiops is saying he is being shopped. Which I think is stupid if it's true, now I know it's tiops but still. Plot does have the skill and attitude to be a decent 3rd line player but he needs to play some games. He is only 25 rookie. Why does Sprong and 18-23 yr old rookies get a break but he doesn't? I hope they resign him to a 1-1.5 mil for 2 yr deal |

You don't have to send Zatkoff down... You're allowed 23 skaters. Even so, I doubt any team would claim him. - hipcheck_goalie
I can't see them carrying 23 when they're cap tight.
If they wanted Murray to be the backup, they would have just made him the backup and let Zatkoff go wherever. But they didn't do that, and it's probably a good thing. |

He HAS played 32 games this year, lets not act like he has not been afforded a chance. He was never graded a 1st rounder either like Sprong, whom you mentioned, who will get the benefit of the doubt. |

Plotnikov played 32 games. It's not like he hasn't been given a chance.
There's no way they re-sign him to anything above what they gave him last summer. |

Hmm.. Kinda feel like the Blues should be playing the Mario star power music when the home team has a power play, not the away team. Feel like it would be much better suited. Pretty cool though. |

Eh. I wouldn't mind playing Plotnikov over Porter and Kuhnhackle, but truth is Rust and Sheary are playing better hockey. I love the idea of Plotnikov but he just really hasn't been very effective. I thought he was playing good hockey whenever he was on a line with Cullen and Fehr or Bonino and Bennett, but besides that he wasn't great |

I thought so too but there are so many haters on here. Like he is the main reason they suck this yr. |

No one is blaming Plotnikov for anything - we're just saying that he isn't better than what they're rolling out now, and he's certainly not the short-term or long-term answer like some are still convinced he is. |

I dont think anybody has ever made that claim, anything close to it really. I admire the guys drive to succeed. He has however been outplayed by a lot of players on the roster, and when given the opportunity, he has not particularly succeeded, 0 goals in 32 games. Sprong at least netted a couple. |

On nights like this where no one can score I love what the bottom six is doing. Just living in the opposition's zone. It's so refreshing to see a bottom six that can grind out a possetion in the offensive zone and not be a liability on the ice and bide time until something works in our favor. There hasn't been much space on the ice tonight |

At age 25 he's pretty much peaked. You dont really get a lot better at that age. He's just not that good. |

Once Bennett is back this weekend, someone will be going down and that will be interesting on who will get demoted. Also if DP is in next game, who sits? I hope it's Scoleduri. |

Loved what Sullivan had to say in that last session. All about effort and desire. He's so delightfully anti-analytical, totally old-school basing things on feel and intangibles.

Eh. I'm not sure you can say he's anti analytics. Pretty much everyone on this squad has sound advanced stats under him. He doesn't have the option to make anti-analytic roster decisions like playing Adams or Glass over someone. |
