It's hard for me to imagine he won't get traded
The return will be too good
Minimum 2nd round pick, with maybe another pick or decent prospect added
Or if Murray is crafty enough,
Maybe we can get a good LH defenseman prospect

Probably wishful thinking
He hasn't progressed from last year to this, but he was picked 18th or 16th (something like that), so I doubt Minnesota is ready to bail on him just yet.
I doubt they see McGinn as the piece that finally gets them past the Hawks

To me, the only way they can sign McGinn is they can somehow get rid of Moulson, and since that isn't likely to happen, I just don't see it.

Totally agree my friend.

The guy couldn't get it going with one of the most offensive teams in the league. Hell he couldn't get it going with one of the best centres in the world. Even Johnson and Fillupula are pretty darn good centres.

Drouin is Mackinnon Made.

I'd take Rychel and Fabbri over Drouin right now.

I think what Girgs does for this team is overlooked. And that deal doesn't get it done for Drouin.

Or maybe we are overvaluing him like we did Marcus

Bingo. Its great that he has the leadership and grit and compete. But if results dont back that up, what do we have?

I also don't get where this "Drouin is undersized" notion came from?

Since when is 5'11 190+ lbs "undersized."

he plays an excellent 2way game and is really hard to get off the puck. Foligno is nothing like Zemgus. I like both but i think some are selling zemgus short. But I would trade Zemgus and a 2nd for Drouin if that gets it done.

Untouchables:

ZEMGUS
Eichel
Reinhart
Risto
Kane-I am prepared to take slack for this
Guhle-As well as this
RoR-Which is why I saved this guy for last

Wouldn't trade any one of these folks for almost any package including Drouin.

Girgensons certainly has more offensive talent then Foligno
Is he going to be a consistent 20goal scorer?
Not unless he plays on a line with Eichel or O'Reilly
And either way is ok with me
If he's in the top6, his style of play helps our future studs
And he has the talent himself to keep up
If he settles into a 3rd line role, then he can take on tough defensive matchups that will free up the ROR line to play against lesser talent.
He's a good, young, and (most importantly) versatile player for us.
Also, he prob won't ever take up all that much Cap room with his modest offensive #s

I said this year's ago, and I'll continue now though...
He'll have more seasons of less than 20goals than he will be above that mark
So if it's the right deal,
I will be ok with moving him

But we also aren't trying to put together a group of All-stars, we're trying to create a Stanley Cup caliber "Team"
And a guy like Zemgus is certainly needed IMO

It's obscenely early to label Guhle as "untouchable"
That's crazy to me...
He might have "top4" potential, but I doubt if he'll ever be a top pair guy
Why do u think so highly of him?

Kane is being too harshly judged by too many IMO
He's on pace for over 20goals, and if his shooting % was around his norm, & not an all-time low, he'd be on pace for over 30 goals!

He's having trouble finding chemistry with Eichel, or as I've heard some say its actually the other way around
I think Kane will be just fine as a 30+ goal scorer for us in years to come
While the knocks on his "hockey iq" may be justified, he makes up for it with consistent physical play
He's a power forward that can score
That's hard to find in this league

A. It's 45 games in and he has 9 goals. That's not a 20 goal pace (Which I think he should get this year)
B. He's playing 20 minutes a night, which is a career high, and the reason why he's taking so many shots.

He will never have a normal/high shooting %. He takes every shot imaginable

Aside from the fact that we are just so thin at LHD, I just love his game. Watching him play this year, I really think he is a top 4 D that will QB the power play for a long time. His hockey IQ coupled with his skating I see being a very dynamic package for us. When we drafted him I thought it was a joke. He did well at the combine, but I think was ranked as a 3rd round guy. Someone knew their stuff because he is a guy that can stir the pot on any team.

It's def a stretch I know, but I completely agree about Kane. He missed a lot of time and had a real slow start, but has looked much improved as of late.

My bad on the math
But how can u say he'll "never have a normal shooting percentage" when he has displayed a better shooting % EVERY other year he's played

Idk...
LOTS of guys look like that in Juniors.
Not that he can't be everything you're saying, it just seems way to early to make those conclusions to me.
I'm not down on him, bc like u point out, he has some good skill
He also needs to work on his defense before he can be an NHL regular
Imo, he'll need a few years in the AHL

I honk we're a ways away from knowing how he'll turn out

Without looking I think he's only had a decent shooting % 1-2 years of the 6 he's played.

I don't hate Kane (even though I am on him a lot here) I guess I just had higher expectations for him. Especially if he's going to play 20 minutes a night. You should be scoring 25-30 with that ice time
