I think it could happen but I think the odds are very against it. You'd have to eat half his salary which is 2.5 and then try to convince them that a 2.5 million dollar 4th liner on the 3rd worst team in the NHL who hasn't scored in 30 games is worth giving something up for.

Our best hope is if the NHL expands and we don't have to keep him even though he has a limited NTC.

You gotta wonder if the Isles would as he had success there. That said, they were the one that didn't seem to keen on re-signing him 2 years ago so this seems doubtful. They seem likely to lose Okposo so maybe desperation could set in (aided by us keeping half the salary).

At some point you have to get real offensive talent. It depends on if they see Girgensons as a top 6 winger or your 3rd line center. If it's the latter moving him for top 6 potentially top 3 talent is something worth discussing.

Well i mean I have him on the 2nd line... he'd probably get something somewhat similar to Moulson but he brings a lot more.

Do you really know that he wants that much or just completely guessing?

There are a few options I like out there such as Boedker as well which is why I listed him.


I think Ennis who is a proven 20 goal scorer... proven top 6 guy.. on a 3 year deal for less than 5M could actually be pretty good offer seeing as how they have Stamkos 10M+ possible in addition to what 6 or 7 guys who are RFAs this year or next. Plus we take Carle's 5.5M for the next 3 years off their hands.

Its a lot better deal than some other teams can offer I bet.
