Could you even imagine a top nine of:

ROR-Eichel-Reinhart
Kane-Matthews-Druin
Larrson-Gus-McGinn

I don't think we need Drouin and i don't want to give up the assets to get him.

ROR is not going back to wing either with how great he is on the dot and playing this year.

Matthews can play LW just like Center according to his bios. Puljujarvi and Laine are RWs. Nylander can play either and Tkachuk is a LW

Why not? He's only been down a week, hasn't he?
- stashu

Yea he went down last weekend I thought.

I bet playing behind that poopty of a D core and him posting those numbers aren't helping his confidence and they see that.

- ImThatGuy

Nope, Matthews is a center according to ISS. I have only seen him play center.

I was just suggesting how I would like our future top 9 to look without really considering their true positions. As for Druin, like I'd said, if we could land him for a package of Ennis, Folingno, prospects/picks I'd be all over it.

So im convinced on Jesse Puljujvari( Thats a tough one to spell):

Ryan Kennedy of The Hockey News (Oct. 30th): "With his speed, size and goal-scoring ability, he has been called one of the most terrifying Euro prospects in years."

Lehner needs ice time now that he is healed. Better to get it out of the way this season than wait till next season. We all are hoping next year would be the show all of what the team has become.
- cabin

Of course. From the reports I read he needed more time down there.

Maybe making a post sound so absolute is the error rather than be bothered by nitpicking?

sorry man you're killing me..

DROUIN!!! with an O! haha.

There are a lot of good top 6 quality wingers in the UFA pool this year though. Drouin hasn't been able to do ANYTHING in the NHL yet...

Not saying i'd want to sign each and every one of them but could be some good role players to have until rookies are ready to take on a bigger role.

Staal, Stamkos, Grabner, Vrbata, Backes, Eriksson, Ladd, Okposo, Boedker..

some fringe guys like McGinn, Perron, Hudler, D. Jones, Brouwer, Nielsen, Tanguay, Ott, kelly, versteeg, etc.

Okay so really just about 3 of those guys would I actually like.

Just a brief reminder:

Joel Armia is a budding power forward already playing in the Finnish Elite League at 17 years old. 6'2, 185 lbs, Armia has an incredible shot and uses his size to his advantage on the cycle. Already drawing comparisons to Finnish great Teemu Selanne, Armia possesses a similar scoring touch, though not to the same degree. Although he underwhelmed during the World Junior Championship, the Finnish team collectively flamed out during the metal round. Though he is one of the top offensive players in the draft, Armia may not go straight to the NHL, as his defensive game needs rounding out. Armia projects to go in the from any where inside to top 10-the a pick in the mid teens.

Also reminder...

Mikhail Grigorenko is yet another Russian player looking to be selected in the top three. He is an extremely talented center with great hands, amazing IQ, superb vision and tons of offensive upside. He is a mainstay on Russia's junior national team as their top center, and was voted Player of the Tournament at the World Junior A Hockey Challenge.

Everyone wants another winger here. Matthews would be amazing. Puljujarvi, Laine, and Tkachuk are other popular ones...

But I honestly think we need another top end D prospect before another top end forward prospect. If the pick isn't there for D then so be it and we end up with a great talent either way but man we need another blue chipper on the blue line IMO

Chuchyrn? Bean? Sergachev?

- JVince11

Honestly we probably need a phenom D prospect more than a forward. Picking at 2-4 it'll be damn hard not to pick a forward. If we can magically pickup a top 15 1st, that pick absolutely belongs to a Dman.

Not saying DrOuin has shown anything yet, I agree with you on that and that's why I wouldn't even consider trading a core piece away for him, but a guy like Ennis, sure why not, I'd be willing to take the chance if a deal could be struck. As for the UFA market, this happens every year. There are always a lot of nice pieces but most will be resigned by July 1st and there are always the ones that won't want to come to Buffalo.

Is it more or less fun rooting for a top pick this year. I feel like anything after Eichel is just a bonus. God forbid we turn into the Oilers.

If he develops a 2-way game and we somehow trade for Hjalmarsson, it will also be the most terrifyingly difficult to spell/pronounce PK Unit:

Girgensons-Puljujarvi

Ristolainen-Hjalmarsson

...I really want this to happen
