I figured one of the ice cold guys would get a goal tonight. Just felt like the right game for it. Just picked the wrong one; I think that was Gionta's second deflection goal of the season too, and the last one was reviewed as well. He's so short it looks like it should be a high stick, but then you slow it down and it's not even really all that close.

Never played hockey, perhaps I can encourage my kids to play (tough call being here in SC), but damn....it's such a BASIC concept and it's so frustrating to see it not happen.

Could get a fluke goal, a fluke deflection by the defenders, a juicy rebound...so many possibilities - all better than getting into a corner and losing the puck

Figures i would have a hot start/big week when im playing a no-show. Instead of using the last 3 weeks against top of the division foes to most likely secure first place, i have lost 3 straight and now sit in second place of a 3 way tie for first, at 11-3.

Gotten screwed by some injuries/untimely bad weeks. I suppose this is a nice freebie at a cruicial time.

My only issue with Kane is how much he misses the net, and seems to be from bad angles that ring around the boards and out.

Not only do I want just more shots in general (remember the beginning of the season?), but more wrist shots.

God this is going to sound terrible

Have you ever taken a good look at the curve on his stick? Ive managed to catch it a handful of times throughout the season and it has a pretty sharp hook right at the end of the blade.

Im sure its something he has messed around with for most of his life getting it to where he likes it but, when i played i never had an issue lifting the puck. Although a bigger curve definitely created more 'snap' or 'whip' off the blade i always preffered a straighter blade, since i found it kept me from lifting the puck over the net all the time. Especically on wrist shots.
