Below us. I was thinking about them but forgot to write them.

Wait man , old age will hit you too

We need sharks to make the playoffs, Boston has their 1st and we don't want it to be a lottery.

Better for Boston to get a lottery pick than the Sharks, IMO

If the Sharks make the playoffs neither gets a lottery pick.

Canucks don't have the horses to make that kinda deal and who's actually available, no one trades those types of players unless they bring back a 23 year old 6'3" 200+ lb 70 point center.

Gotta draft one, plain and simple.

- LeftCoaster

Well, if we draft nothing but D outside the top 5 this year, we will have a solid chance at getting at least 1.

Or can we have a serious conversation about trading Tanev for Hamonic now? Hamonic is a Top2 dman with the Islander with a $600k less cap hit compared to Tanev for another few more years. It would be an upgrade on Tanev at least with him being on the list for the last Canadian Olympic team and preliminary World Cup team.

Why not do both? I'd rather have several solid dman as they tend to be easier to get giant hauls for

I'd be happy to do both. Hamonic is 20 pounds heavier than Tanev and has been willing to drop the gloves, every once in awhile. If Hockey Canada brass sees something in Hamonic then why shouldn't we?

The problem isn't trading Tanev for Hamonic... the problem is trading Tanev plus another good asset for Hamonic. I don't think we have the prospect depth to do it at this point.

Quite happy with what we have atm we should just continue with drafting and only take on Etem type trades.

Depends on what that plus is, outside of shink/gaunce in utica, and bo, jv, jm, hutton, baer in van most of our options are easily replaced. Tanev + Grenier could possibly get it done.

Tanev and a guy who wouldnt get a third by himself would not bring Hamonic

I like the amount of class you're team has in winning a hockey game. Pathetic showing.

Agree, it would be an improvement on Tanev, so giving up another unproven asset, is just that, unproven. Hamonic is a good guy for now, but if he's still an Islander by the start of next season I'd be surprised and who knows maybe he says he won't play for the Islanders next season if they don't make a trade happen.

The point is the Canucks have Tanev who could be someone the Islanders wouldn't mind having since they're about the same age and he's a lighter version of Hamonic.

ok everyone lets settle down on Hamonic. Good players and all. But we dont know the reason he needs to leave the team. Does he need to leave the east or just that team?
If he needs to be relocated then where is acceptable for him? I think if this were straight forward itd have been done already.

we dont know whats going on, but he has something going on that we have no idea how it will impact us if acquired. Maybe we'd have to turn around and trade him later.

People are making it seem like its all just easy. Sure id like to have him and all, but we have to consider his situation too

I know it's just twitter stuff and Botch seems to think it was a sisters comment, but if the stuff about Thornton beaking about Rick Rypien is true, then (frank) him.

I still like the Panthers, they would be my team in the east to cheer for. I like the job Tallon is doing there.

I can understand why they were upset to lose the streak, when they seemed to have the game under control with less than 5 minutes to go. And it was good to see the Canucks stick up for one another. Don't care who started it or said whatever. Just good to have some emotion in the game from both sides.

It's perfect timing for the team to go on a road trip.
