Says you . I think we need to restock the pantry so we can afford to overpay . Drouin does not have the pedigree of a Johansson yet.. Making moves this season is pointless . Stay the course and make moves in the summer. Unless a deal is too good to pass up.

There is zero chance that 1 player will make us 9th not happening .
- gerbe75pts

Not worth tinkering with things . This team is still in Flux . I want to see the same lines for at least 20 games. I think you are overvaluing Drouin at this point . I think Zemgus has more Value at this point. A move right now is pointless. The draft will be better place . And Buffalo will want to make a splash there since they are hosting. The only way Tampa moves him is with an overpayment coming back till Stamkos situation is settled

Its been said they are looking for a similiar young player. To me that says Reinhart but maybe if we add to ennis or girgs they would consider that. Reinhart or girgs would be a tough pill to swallow and im not sure i would have the balls to do it. We are talking about a potential star in Drouin tho
- MCGUIZZY

Reinhart is better than Drouin... Am i the only one that sees Reinhart being a top 20 point producer yearly in this league? They take him off a line with ROR and he still produces. A hatrick! Reinhart, Eichel, Risto are my untouchables.

I dont think it is "too much" to give up, that is the value of the players.

Girgensons : 60 pts - 169 games (.355 pt/gm)
Drouin : 40 pts - 89 games (.45 pt/gm)

- Lilroot9

And Drouin is 2 years younger? Umm, ok. The more I see, the more I want this deal to happen. Dude could be amazing next to Eichel or Reinhart.

Points are not everything Zemgus's defensive play adds a lot to his value.

Yes. I like Sam, but I don't think he ever scores more than 70 and likely will be a 50-60 point player at his prime.

I actually think they are going through a mini rebuild on the sneak now and will likely trade both Ladd and Byfuglien for as much as they can get at the deadline.

That is what I would do with the likely long term, large dollar deals both of those players are going to want at their respective ages.

- kingcong39

Ladd is getting old and is pretty much just a leadership guy at this point. Losing Byfuglien could hurt but I definitely see them getting a good amount back for both.

Maybe to us because we love Gus who knows maybe he has less value around the NHL

And you think Drouin will be over 70? I think Sam is going to surprise a lot of people. His improvement from last year to now is incredible.

Let's be honest in our eyes it's overpayment that's beacuse we love Gus but remember we all used to love marcus but then he kept on regressing . And remember there was a rumor that boston wanted vanek with Marcus for Tyler and we said no . And half of us were happy because we all thought Marcus was going to be the next big thing...

Maybe Gus is going to regress like Marcus

- gerbe75pts

And maybe Drouin will never turn out to be a star.

The not filling your max potential works both ways.

I severely doubt Murray downsizes, so to speak, in the forward department, and despite my belief that a team needs a variety of skillsets within its forward group to win, Murray is in love with a team comprised of players that is difficult to play against.

My thought though is why not stay the course, get a top 5 pick this year where you take a forward with perhaps a bit less scoring talent (although that is debatable regarding the Finns having less talen then Drouin) with the preferred body type, without losing a Reinhart or Girgensons?

That way you can focus on that impact D man via trade of free agency after addressing your winger need.

I'd do Ennis or Girgs, not both in 1 trade IMO. I'd do Girgs and Larsson in a heartbeat.

It does but this team lacks offense in a bad way.

I'd be hesitant to do Gus for Drouin, but I'd consider it

And how do you know what his value is. TMGM has liked him from the day he got here and Bylsma is starting to too . He was one of those pieces that a person like you will not realize his worth till he is gone.

Straight up maybe . But I am not throwing in more pieces. I also think more offense comes with letting these guys gel.

Same. It would hurt to move Girgensons but honestly he is easier to replace than a potential star winger.

The ultimate benefit, even if you don't get as much in return via a trade, is not having either or both of them bogging down your cap on giant, long term deals.

Hard to know his worth being 29th in the leauge . I dont think they are using him the right way. He should be on the PP. And it took till after the break for them to play him with talent. Hopefully this team starts finishing and we see his #s improve

The way the league is going, 65 points might get you into the top 20 of the league.

Yes, and he is exactly right.
Just like ROR takes points away from other teams with his defensive play...we really don't need a guy like Drouin who doesn't believe in playing D...at all...that is what landed him in the AHL.
Now, I can take the guy for either Ennis or Larson + a 2nd...because his potential is damaged goods right now. I certainly ain't giving up Girgs and Larson for him...no freakin' way.

Larson plus a 2nd. go to Ennis + 2nd (which apparently is like the 32 or 33rd pick)

Edit: meant and changed to AHL

I'd be happy with an Ennis swap, and it wouldn't be terrible value for TBL either, given that Drouin is contributing nothing to them at this point.

Neither will be worth what they want. Some team trying to add the final piece to put them over the top to contend for the cup will overpay greatly. Its definitely a win/win for the jets. I like them going forward.
