I agree, first time in a while i really wanted the win for bragging rights. Sam got knocked around all game and to see him stick it out was great.

Also for all the slack Gorges go last year i think he been our most underrated player. He's never been a points guy but what hes done for risto is huge.

- yen6d1

Actually the numbers would suggest that he's been holding him back more than anything else. A D-man of Gorges style is ideal, smart/safe shot blocker etc but the real issue is Gorges just can't keep up anymore. Whether it's the cycle behind the net or defending against the rush he knows what to do but is just that half step behind. Not saying he cant keep up period, just not against top competition.

I am not saying Gorges is a top line d man. But he is the best option we have to play with Risto. Especially because it has worked all year.

All eight teams in NFL division playoffs will be quarterbacked by former No.1 overall pick or former Super Bowl winner (or both w/Manning).

Please go find a great QB

only problem is that 2 of those should have never rightlfully advanced.

Best not to overreact to peaks or valleys. Give Risto and Georges a few more games to get back to their standards. If it keeps falling, maybe Pysyk gets a promotion and Georges gets sheltered a bit more.

agreed.
that is a serious overpayment. I dont care how high he was drafted, what is his value right now, and what does that tell you about the potential future value...minimally it is a high risk. Larson or Ennis, plus our 2nd is about how far i would go.

I also believe that the Blue Line needs to be considered As a vertical line, similar in nature to the Goal Line in football. The trailing skate should not be required to be on the ice..what freaking difference does that make? They needed to test this in the AHL for a,few, seasons rather than trotting it out in the NHL untested.
- IonSabres

Agreed. I also agree with the delay of game penalty. I'd like to see a time limit on challenging an offsides too. Not sure what the sweet spot would be but I find it ridiculous that you could have some serious possession time and score only to find out that because Gionta's foot was above the line four minutes ago it's not a goal

The Jets reminded me of what we were between 2009 and 2013: a poorly-constructed team with a core that won't get the job done. I know the last 3 years have been tough but i couldn't watch another team like that again. They have a lot of assets on that team - I would think that they could do a pretty fast rebuild.

The Hockey News had them as a cup contender/winner in 2 or 3 years in an issue last year.

I think we're very similar teams right now, and the Ssbres just aren't performing as they should.

I would agree that they aren't build to win, but only because they lack a #1 center. If I were them I would have been all over Johansen

They could have offered Trouba++

Im torn, on one hand they should be better than this at least offensively you would think. On the other, they've lost to teams you would expect them to lose to. Our 6 games losing streak was tough but we lost to the Blackhawks, panthers, wings, isles and caps x2. Those are all games you'd expect us to lose. Then they finally play a non playoff team and win.

Its been said they are looking for a similiar young player. To me that says Reinhart but maybe if we add to ennis or girgs they would consider that. Reinhart or girgs would be a tough pill to swallow and im not sure i would have the balls to do it. We are talking about a potential star in Drouin tho

Says you . I think we need to restock the pantry so we can afford to overpay . Drouin does not have the pedigree of a Johansson yet.. Making moves this season is pointless . Stay the course and make moves in the summer. Unless a deal is too good to pass up.

Let's be honest in our eyes it's overpayment that's beacuse we love Gus but remember we all used to love marcus but then he kept on regressing . And remember there was a rumor that boston wanted vanek with Marcus for Tyler and we said no . And half of us were happy because we all thought Marcus was going to be the next big thing...

Maybe Gus is going to regress like Marcus

How is making moves pointless now ??? A young winger is available you try to trade for him to help jack for next year . Stay the course ??

But they had a real chance of winning and did, that's the difference. you give the caps or hawks that many chances they'll bury you. Give them to a team like Winnipeg and 50/50 chance you'll get away with it.

Remember when we are a 9/10/11 place team and we had these kinds of losses against the thrashers and panthers of old? We're on the other side of that now

Did we get that outplayed yesterday? Because it at least looked pretty even to me. We got outshot but we had the lead in the third and our goaltender was good.
