not a very good move by the nhl...need to ditch it

I must be the only one who isn't bothered by the coach's challenge. If it's offsides, it's offsides.

I wouldn't mind making the challenge more like the illegal stick challenge in the 90s, though. Attach a delay of game for an unsuccessful challenge.

started out that way, but just don't like it...if they're gonna keep it, which they probably will, they need to adjust it...

maybe have the team looking to challenge indicating their intent to do so within a certain time-frame, like five seconds after a questionable zone-entry

IMO the hiring of Rob Ryan by his brother is suspect at best. It appears he'll focus on th LB core so be more of a position coach. In that role, it isn't so bad. If the role expands, then I'm concerned as his past history as DC just plain doesn't warrant a larger span of control and decision making.
I'll take a wait and see attitude, but with a raised eyebrow as well.

I only mind because in a league struggling for entertainment, which often can mean more goal scoring, they came up with a way to reduce scoring.

I also like how the thought is if the team asking for the review is wrong, they lose a timeout, except for the fact that they effectively have an even longer timeout while the review is taking place.

I really like your idea about the team asking for the review receiving a penalty if they are wrong, that is, if reviews are going to stick around past this season.

Didn't see the game last night, how did the line combinations look? Especially Eichel with Samson ? Could he keep up with Eichel? Did the line stay together? I ask since Eichel didn't assist on any of SAMs hatty.

I also believe that the Blue Line needs to be considered As a vertical line, similar in nature to the Goal Line in football. The trailing skate should not be required to be on the ice..what freaking difference does that make? They needed to test this in the AHL for a,few, seasons rather than trotting it out in the NHL untested.

As A D coach, not the D Coordinator. Thought is to focus on the LB core.

I'm of the mindset that you don't necessarily need goal scoring to be entertaining. You need more scoring chances. A 2-1 game can be very entertaining if there is end to end action and teams have chances to score. The emphasis on blocking shots, I think, has hurt the game more than people realize. You can complain about the trap, obstruction, and what have you all you want, but the good teams figure out a way to get around all that. The problem is it's simply too tough to get beyond shooting lanes. Ironically, the Sabres seem to be pretty bad at it.

They probably would have, if all AHL rinks we're properly equipped with the correct video systems. The problem is, they aren't.
