every other team in the league passed on him too. including edmonton who could use that type of player. I wanted us to grab him too but something has to be up
- MCGUIZZY

I have a feeling that partially that there's some sort of GM-code that made the line not be crossed.

Or it could be that if Colorado didn't see anything up to this point (Who have had the best look at him), I don't see another GM picking him up unless it is out of desperation.

If we don't get the first pick, I am leaning toward wanting Chychrun or Puljujarvi

That certainly makes the decision easier to swallow. If he had fallen a few slots and the Habs grabbed him or something I would be livid. However, we are RHD heavy, getting a LHD that is even a 5/6 would be a welcomed attraction...especially with bare cupboards and all. I like some of our prospects like Guhle and Brycen Martin, but passed those two I don't see any of them (maybe Borgen) that have any shot of doing much. Gormley has a chance IMO.

I'd lose my poop... Then find it and lose it again.
I'd seriously go full time Preds fan.

I would have no problem with Mike Weber being given another reasonable contract to be a 3rd pairing or 7th dman.
He is the farthest thing from being an issue here especially at his cost.
I would have no problem and would applaud a contract offered to Mike Weber @
2 years for 2.5 -3 mill @ 1.25 to 1.5 per.
Weber for me, is an excellent insurance policy as a vet presence and can be had for a very affordable/cap friendly price.
I'd rather keep his grit and his veteran leadership here for 2 more years at least.

I guess I should start tracking Risto's even strength point production before and after the line change. I am fairly certain that it will pay off. For me, not Risto. Time will tell.

"Frozen outpost"......that is how you describe WPG? Love when the WPG bashing comes from a city known for all its beauty and splendor like Buffalo LOL. Go to a Bills tailgate and get a taste of Buffalo......

I can assure you , that the Sabres are going to feel very welcome here. Espeically Kane and Bogo (who LOVES snow!).

Will be a fun game Sunday and may the prettiest city win!

Risto has still been producing points. D is not the problem. He, ROR and Eichel are the only players going well right now. Risto has not been the problem. He is one of the few bright spots on this team. Why mess with that?
- SabresPanacea

You're acting like I want to stick him in the AHL. I want to see him play with a different partner for a few games. He has 2 points in his last 5 games and both of them came on the power play which I'm somewhat sure he isn't paired with Gorges on. Is that really messing with him to the point that it's going to derail his career? Because I don't think it is. Give him 22 minutes a night with Pysyk. Here's a thought, maybe putting Bogo with Gorges would help? Maybe McCabe with Gorges would help. Ristolainen has been really good all season and in the last 5 games has looked okay.

O'Reilly has been producing and we change his linemates. Eichel produces and he gets a different partner each game. If it doesn't work for 5 games there is no rule in the CBA that says they can't be put back together as a pairing.

Yea Im with you. One guy you are missing is Florentino who I think is going to be better than Mccabe. But he is a right hand shot so really Guhle and Martin are our best prospects on the left side. Gormley is ahead of all of them at least from a development perspective. Maybe we are gearing up for a trade on D..

When is the MSG contract up? Is Pegula still building up his own sports network that the games would be on? That way all cable/dish providers would be able to see that games.
- BuffaloBigD

Not sure really, sorry.
If we could get another Empire Sports Network going here man would that be "fan"tastic.
I heard when Ted Black was here they were contemplating it.
Haven't heard anything on this topic it seems in like forever.

The temp is -1F right now. Tomorrow's high is -12. That's not bashing, that's an observation.

Mike Weber, everyone's whipping boy, a guy for whom I root hard. Has one of the best corsi stats on the team, and is everyones choice to waive to make room for another.

He is a heart and soul player, sacrifices his body, always plays hard. And anyone who pummels Crosby's face has a spot on my team.

I know Pegula has bought rights to some sort of station to show the Sabres games and such just was waiting out the MSG contract. I would love to have something like ESN back. But now it will be PSN - The Home of the Sabres!

I just don't know what he wants. -12 is pretty (frank)ing cold. Are we not supposed to bring that up? Are we supposed to call it a winter wonderland? Because when you go outside and the air hurts your face the wonder disappears.

He has played better this year. considered a leader (one of) on the team. I can live with the option of re signing him.

I'd take him as a 7th. Why not. I don't dislike his game, I just don't want him having a big role. As a depth player he can do fine.

it's all good! "outpost" is a little bit of a shot and as for the cold we love it....most of the time.

Looking forward to attending a spirited game Sunday!

Sabres need a win, and our Jets are in the toughest division and cannot afford to lose.

No one more excied than Evander Kane who really only cares that he is being talked about, positvie or negative of no concern.

Here it is, 1 year left with WGR for Sabres... 2 years left for the Bills. 2 seasons left with MSG for the Sabres and then they can walk away but will lose 10 million. But i think it will happen for sure. Just in time for the Winter Classic season...
