Dont be surprised if Kaleta signs with the Sabres in the next couple days...
- MCGUIZZY

I like Kaleta. Always have. I liked his game, liked him on the PK, and liked how he tried. But I just watched him and he was not the same player. Tried to be. You could see he was trying to get that big hit and that spark. But he just didn't have it in him anymore.

just like 365 days ago

Thank you homie, you are kind.

So when we are outscored by 11 goals, Goose, you expect the leader in toi to be an even or positive +/-?

what I heard was, he needs to get a dozen or so games under his belt, keep his head on straight and he will then get called up (signed)

When you get outscored by 11 maybe he has some part in it too. It's a team effort so it's not all on him but he is part of the team. I agree that we should change something. The worst that happens is we look as bad as we have now. Not like this change could jeopardize our playoff hopes.

And by that, just put him on the 2nd pairing. Let him play a little less. Try him with Pysyk. Stuff like that. I'm not saying bench him.

well my source does it off and on as a side job now, more on recently. I threw his name out on this site 5 years ago, and every once in a while he would be on wgr, or empire back in the day

Here's hoping he does. Broke my heart when he was talking about the Rochester game in Buffalo and his quote was "I don't want my last game in the First Niagara Center to be in an Amerks jersey"

Kozial was one of my teachers in high school if that counts. That's about as much connection as I have.

Agreed. I'm not sure that it makes sense to bring him into the fold again at this point either though.

My concern is that there is no playoffs like you say. So to me the rest of the season is player development. I think it is better for Risto's development to have consistency with his d partner so he can stay focused on his game and not learning to play with different partner especially when he is going so well right now. Of all the things to mess woth on this team, this is the last one.

this is much more connected than that, after watching 89 get ripped for the last few years, I have avoided posting most of what I hear

and this was not the babcock source, I was unable to get in touch with him/her that day

The guy gets a TON of hate. Most in unwarranted. Which is surprising because he was once a very beloved (by sabres fan) player. He got people out of their seats with his hits and energy. And If you've ever met him outside of hockey, hes an awesome guy.

down 2-1 after two periods

when have the sabres last scored 2 goals in the first period or had 3 goals after 2 periods

IMO not scoring is leading to the team trying to open up in 3rd and inflating GAA and putting the d under the microscope

score a (frank)ing goal or 2 and these issues are minimized

- homiedclown

This is a good point.

This.....

However, last year if we went into the 3rd down a goal, I knew it was going to be a loss. I don't feel that way this year. Just look at the Boston game. They need to get the issues of falling behind early corrected. I think once they do that, things will smooth out more on their own.

- HonkFortheGoose

Number of Sabres goals in December (14 games): 34 (2.43 per game)
Number of 3rd period goals in December: 19 (ouch)
Number of times Buffalo held a lead after 1st period: ONCE
Number of times Buffalo held a lead after 2 periods: 3
Number of times scoring the first goal of the game: 5

Note: all are December games

All leads to a big YIKES

if focused, he is an effective 4th liner and pk player

say a few 2 for 1 trades are made to upgrade the top half of the roster, he then allows a focused foligno to play on the third line if he can be dependable on the 4th line
