You forgot to mention picking up Gormley, didn't VANTEL want him?
- Retinalz

I thought Vantel was all about the other J Benn.
Although i've yet to heard a very compelling case as to his value, beyond playing on a stacked team.

I would not, could not, play for LA.
I would not, could not chose to stay.
Not for the kings, not with their rings.
I do not like 4th line icetime

We don't need RNH .
- VANTEL

We totally need an heir apparent for the 1C position.
We have no one that has the potential of RNH.

Trust me he would be a leader on this team in D. He would call out a few for not standing up for their goalie and team mates

You would not could not stay?
Not even if you're Lacavalier?

I'm fine with patience, but it's still fair to say we could use a 21 yr old future 1C.
Bo projects to be a great 2C
McCann could be a good 2C as well.
But if you have a chance to grab a RyJo or RNH, without gutting your team, you do it imo.

Seems like a no brainer...sit Higgins
- Bullfrog77

If Higgins is already sitting? Maybe WD will rotate more players in and out of the lineup?

I thought Cracknell was possibly playing injured - wasn't taking face-offs but had a good game last night. Not sure who else to consider unless guys have little nagging injuries and need a rest?

are they in a rush to get Virtanen in, maybe they will sit him a bit and then he'll do a conditioning stint in Utica?

This. But maybe we win the draft lotto? 1C's don't grow on tree's, they usually come in the top 15.

You say I underestimate everything
I have seen a lot of things watching for 60 years , and I predict we will be fine.

This team has a good backbone developing and when you put the youth in situations that they needed to lead they did.

This summer I said get rid of Higgins on waivers if need be and you told me about his veteran presence . We lose when he is in the line up and win without him.

Have more trust in our young guys. They are better than you think

- VANTEL

If only it was that simple, and yes I agree Higgins hasn't been very good this year and some of our young players could replace many of his contributions this year. That has nothing to do with replacing the Sedin's contributions.

I think we are still a couple of years from bottoming out and will enjoy watching a somewhat competitive team while I can.

What are the chances that Higgins gets bought out of the last year of his contract if no one is willing to take him?

lot of people don't think the Sedins are tough. RNH is 21, he cant grow facial hair. Give him a few years.

Get RNH, put McCann to his wing, trade one of shink/baer

Bo is 20 years old . I think in three years he is going to turn heads. You can already see him with power moves and finesse moves. He has a great head for hockey, he's a leader.

He had a very good year last year and went to a big slump. He might be turning a corner and him and Baer looking good. Let's see how this goes.

It has to do with replacing vets with the kids when they are ready. Sedins have three years left. The team will definitely be ready by then

This is why I don't like the idea of us fixated on the 1OA and Matthews, Bo is going to be the next captain once Henrik decides it's time to turn the franchise over to him and you can see that Bo wants to be "The Guy". It's a real slap in the face of Bo, Jared and Jake when people whine that we need Matthews. Either Bo or Jared will be the 1C and be PPG players and I'll be quite happy with that.

If Bo and McCann can both develop into 2nd line centres, that is a win, if one of them is more than that, it would be awesome.

When the WCE was rolling, Morrison wasn't really a first line centre, he was playing the position, but I can always remember hearing and reading the talk of how much better that line would be with a better centre. I think they ended up doing quite well. If we had both these guys at that level, I am sure other holes would be a priority.

Sven and Bo have had some chemistry brewing, maybe if teams start noticing this, Vrbata will get a little more room and get going some more.

Totally.
i am happy with Bo and look forward to seeing him develop.
Sounds like you see him into a David Backes type, which would be great.

I'm also happy with Sven's production.

Bo very well might be the next captain (but that doesn't necessarily mean he'll be a legit 1C).

Nothing wrong with wanting a player that projects to be a bonafide 1C though.
I still maintain that RNH or RyJo have higher ceilings at this point in their careers.
