yeah pegula is a penny pincher

if you think he bought these teams to consistently miss the nfl playoffs and hover around last place in the nhl, your kidding yourself

- homiedclown

he's only been owner of the bills for one season...at 8-8, they basically finished where they were the season when you include marrone beat an apathetic patriots team the last game

Disagree on McGinn. He is producing at his normal rate while his shooting percentage is only a tiny bit high.

Counting on Gionta and Moulson for scoring is a problem.

If Zemgus and Ennis were producing at the rate they did last season, it would be far easier to handle what Moulson and Gionta are not doing.

his points per minute played is much higher then ever, not sure how you can disagree with that

Totally disagree, his seat only gets hot if the team has a similar record next year at the halfway mark.

Prior to that happening, no way.

- kingcong39

This is the plan that Pegula signed up for when Murray was hired. I can't see him firing Murray without seeing if the plan worked. That means, staying on for the year and likely next year. If next year we're terrible again, like you said, the seat is hot. If we narrowly miss the playoffs next year and then miss again the year after that I think he's out. Playoffs are needed within 2 years for him.

In my opinion, of course

I think Lynde was funnier for the moment, where Riley had better planned bits

it's not the problem at all

aside from risto, IMO goalies have overachieved

this team can't score and Murray brought in his toys to score

The 2015-16 sabres have failed the eye test so far, if the trend continues we may have a GM on the hot seat.

- homiedclown

If Lehner fails as early this season, Murray's ass should be burning by then with Terry and Kim both holding the flame to his bum.

right now, if he sticks on the top 6, he will probably shatter his season high 38 points

assuming he stays healthy

Lehner could not work out during the off season due to his concussion, he was out of shape and overweight. So yes that affects how he plays, it takes time to get back into game shape. And why are you arguing about OUR goalies? Do we need to take a look at the laffs netminders?

The ESPN projection has him on pace for 16 goals and 21 assists for the season.

I know. Just don't understand goalie bashing from a guy from Toronto, .896 sv% and 3.09 GAA.... end of conversation.

Is goaltending not the most up and down, gamble, craps shoot position in the entire league? Murray went with a guy he scouted and believes will be good. He knows him better than other goalies and likes what he saw.

I can't imagine we fire him based on the performance of one guy. Yes, we traded for him, I still don't think if Lehner comes out here and has the same numbers as Johnson does right now at the end of the season that TM is gone.

I'm not going to tell you that you're wrong.
However, I will just say that your statement differs from one goalie to the next.
I played the position a ton and it didn't matter to me when or how I was playing.
The only thing I would say that hinders a goalies performance is how large or small the ice/playing surface is and that simply has to do with angles.
Even saying that, if you still want to argue your point, Lehner by that last game against Columbus should have found some kind of rhythm.
Instead he posted a .800 save %

- Pluviophile

Here's another guy that supports my theory:

Kari Ramo. He was a TRAINWRECK at the start of the season and has now, which regular playing time, managed to get his numbers into a respectable area.

To expect Lehner to play a handful of minutes during the preseason after being concussed for 3 months and not playing since February is laughable.

But, you played the position, so that means you're the authority.....

yeah but he put those points up getting less then 13 minutes per season

I doubt espn is that scientific to predict more points since he is getting more ice time than the fist 25 games

Youre right it is. Again, it's not that they are losing, it's how, and what they are struggling with, and the questions that remain unanswered.

Eichel has 12 points in 8 games, his production can't get too much better than it is now, and this team outside of him and O'Reilly cannot score.

I like a lot of this team. Even though I rip on Kane, I like his game some nights. Other nights he is out to lunch.

Getting star players is one thing, and its great we are in line for a top 5 pick. But as you see with Colorado or Edmonton, just those players aren't enough.

I was convinced that with guys like Compher, Lemieux, Fasching, Armia, Zadorov, the 21st,25th pick etc, that we were going to have an amazing supporting cast for Eichel and Reinhart. Right now that is not the case at all.

We have turned into a top heavy team that cannot score

True story, of goalies that have 15+ games played, Reimer is #1 in sv% and #3 in GAA. (.936 and 1.96)
