I will probably just ignore any article about Vinny unless the headline reads either "Vinny and Flyers agree to terminate contract" or "Vinny traded to ____"

I disagree. If he really does still want to play I think his best chance is to stay put and wait for an opening here. I don't believe that any other team is willing to take a chance on him at any price.
- Scoob

That opening may never come. His window is very short.

If I was the Flyers, I wouldn't give him playing time on the Phantoms. What for?
- MJL

I think he could be effective with the slower pace and lower talent in the AHL. Would also be a nice vet who's been there for the younger guys.

Some of those comments he made suggest that he still hasn't accepted the reality.
- MJL

Accepted? I'm not sure he's living in reality:

"I can play solid both ways."

I don't think there is any chance he gets another shot here. One thing that might be on the Flyers mind is that if he gets a serious injury then they are stuck. I don't think you can buyout or terminate an injured player.
- J35Bacher

Maybe not, but I think here is his best/only chance at getting a shot.

The Flyers already have vets down there, and why would it matter if he was effective or not? He's taking a development spot away from a younger player.

Agreed, but at this point I don't think there is any chance of playing anywhere else. By staying put he gets paid, gets ice time, and is ready as he can be should an opening come along.

That rivals the Nashville jersey in ugliness.

Somehow I see Vinny in the press box, girls in skimpy outfits on both side of him with palm fronds waving over his head, he is in a $3000 suit, has a glass of champagne and keeps watching replays of himself when the Lightning won the cup... and his agent keeps texting him how wonderful he is.....

Who? Jay Rosehill and Davis Drewiske? Not sure they can lend the same kind of player-coach teachings that VLC could. You don't think he could take the spot of Tim Brent (31), Kevin Goumas (24), or Joe Rehkamp (24)? I don't think they're exactly young, developing players, and VLC could probably play as well as/better than them while giving the Flyers $950K savings.

He knows there is at least a chance in hell that he could be put in over RJ. No other team can compete with that

Exactly. A 1% chance is better than a 0% chance.

The content on this article is nothing new to this blog, but interesting nonetheless.

Then just terminate! FFS! Nobody is stopping him from terminating! Nobody wants that contract -- how does he still not get that he is going nowhere with that contract in place?

We already have Gagner and MacDonald down there, and that's not ideal. I don't want him down there, and I doubt the Flyers do either.

I watched the game at 3 different bars, but I still remember a few things! First, please leave Coots and BSchenn together; second, Ghost's ability to consistently get shots through is fantastic; and third, please sit L Schenn-he was awful last night.

Crystal meth. It made him go right to the fetal position and realize the glaring need for a RH Dman. Out of desperation, and as a cry for help, he called the Leafs.

They ran out of ugly.

But probably only two versions because each game will have a home team and an away team.
