All I'm speechless. Hextall did two inpossible things in less than a year. Trade Chris Pronger's deal and trade Vinny's deal. I don't even need to hear the return. That's pretty remarkable.

I'll give Ron Hextall all the credit he deserves from here on out.

Now, on the Andrew MacDonald and RJ Umberger.

Not sure where this retained salary is coming from.

TSN has yet to put it up, tweets from Dregger and Mac stating schenn+vinny for a 3rd and Weal at this point.

Flyers retain 50% of BOTH deals. That's perfectly fine with me.

Yes, because you get the roster slots, and if Wheels retires, you lose all that you owed for those next two seasons

BLESS YOU RON HEXTALL I WILL NOT SAY A (frank)ING THING BAD ABOUT YOU FOR THE REST OF THIS SEASON AT A MINIMUM AND PROBABLY LONGER

From Hockey's Future:

Weal is in his third season with the AHL's Manchester Monarchs in 2014-15. He and former Yale forward Brian O'Neill, two of the league's smaller forwards, have been dominant all season for the Monarchs and are the team's top two scorers. While he has yet to receive his first NHL opportunity, Weal appears closer to reaching that level. Long-term, his success to this point suggests he can be a Stephen Gionta, Nathan Gerbe-type forward at the NHL level. His scoring ability and two-way game will likely also command big contract offers from clubs in Europe if he is not re-signed by Los Angeles following the season.

For sure! Luke is done after this year so no big deal there and 2 years of 2.25 million of dead space is much better than 2 more years of a wasted roster spot at 4.5 per

He sounds like a nice bottom 6 player with potential. Not just a worthless throw in, even though getting rid of Vinny is the real win here
