Carolina may not want to pay him the actual dollars. Unlike the Flyers, some teams actually have an internal operating budget.

Regardless of them wanting to or not. There is a minimum amount of money each team needs to spend to the cap. Vinny's salary is actually less than his cap hit, so a team operating on a low internal budget could be attracted to that

With all due respect, that's kooky talk. Nobody in their right mind who believed he could still play is going to walk away from guaranteed money and hope he gets picked up somewhere else.

Not saying he will or even saying I would in his position, but just saying if he thinks he can play elsewhere then terminate. He wouldn't be the first mutual termination contact. Largest, yes, but not the first. I just can't see anyone taking that contract on.

He is willing to play, but he's not one of the best 29 or 30 players in the organization. Again, he's only on the roster because of a no move clause, not because he can play.

But not everyone in the organzation made the team. Again, there was a training camp. Some players play for the Flyers. Some play for the Phantoms.

The Phantoms can't call up Ivan Provorov but he is apart of the organzation. Heck, an emergency would have to happen for Provorov to be called up but all the Phantoms scratches would have to be injured or the entire Phantoms team would have to be dead.

I get it. You disagree but there isn't a single point you could make to make me think otherwise. Calls ups unless everyone is hurt, to me, is a coward's way out.
