Buddy told me scalpers were handing out tickets in the lower bowl for 50 bucks each after puck drop. Still 20 dollars too much.

Button's mock draft.
He appears to be on the BPA bandwagon.

Young Nylander seems very skilled. He'd likely be another RW to the mix though so i'd be a little concerned about that.

When I was in Van in the spring of 2012 I tried to get a few tix in the lower bowl for the LA series and they were going to be $800 for the pair...

Pass.

But I might catch a few games in Van at that 50 buck price.

That's where Tallon being a better manager is key, he's traded for Luongo and added veteran "D" like Mitchell, Brian Campbell and Jovo a few years ago.

The Oilers were deathly afraid of trading anyone to upgrade, they wanted to hand the keys solely to the kids.

I understand what you're saying, I'd love for them to pick an impact dman in the top five, but only if he's rated top five.

- LeftCoaster

He drafted high. Got rid of the deadweight and brought in veteran leadership by UFA Mitchell, Thorton , and the bust Bolland.

I have been saying don't be afraid to go to the UFA pool and get the veteran leadership . Move the deadwood out bring in a few new faces.

How valuable is an NHL draft pick? Here's a look at the number of picks from each round that have reached the NHL, beginning in 2005 (the year the league reduced the number of draft rounds from nine to the current seven) and ending in 2010 (since many players taken more recently may still be working their way to the NHL).

First Round

Number of total picks: 180

Number of picks to play at least one NHL game: 163 (90.6 percent)

Number of picks to play at least 100 NHL games: 120 (66.7 percent)

Second Round

Number of total picks: 187

Number of picks to play at least one NHL game: 118 (63.1 percent)

Number of picks to play at least 100 NHL games: 50 (26.7 percent)

Third Round

Number of total picks: 180

Number of picks to play at least one NHL game: 81 (45 percent)

Number of picks to play at least 100 NHL games: 31 (17.2 percent)

Fourth Round

Number of total picks: 184

Number of picks to play at least one NHL game: 74 (40.2 percent)

Number of picks to play at least 100 NHL games: 27 (14.7 percent)

Fifth Round

Number of total picks: 187

Number of picks to play at least one NHL game: 59 (31.6 percent)

Number of picks to play at least 100 NHL games: 16 (8.6 percent)

Sixth Round

Number of total picks: 182

Number of picks to play at least one NHL game: 55 (30.2 percent)

Number of picks to play at least 100 NHL games: 18 (9.9 percent)

Seventh Round

Number of total picks: 186

Number of picks to play at least one NHL game: 36 (19.4 percent)

Number of picks to play at least 100 NHL games: 13 (7 percent)

Florida is a great place to go as a UFA even if they aren't competitive. No taxes, no media, great weather.

There is not one canadian market that can say the same.

Looking like some decent forward depth at the top end of the draft, which may allow Chychurn to drop lower, where i imagine we'll realistically end up picking, because, you know...Canucks.

If we lose tomorrow night we should be bottom three by the weekend

It's also a great place to go when they overpay you to go there!!

For sure they overpaid. Then again, $3 million there is worth more than $4 million anywhere in Canada.

The GF comes over and says I should be cleaning the house with my Daughter and Granddaughter coming, I told her that my Daughter's Grandmother wont let her go anywhere without a maid, so the house will be clean and the dragon lady will be paying for it.

Who knew that when the Finnish Headcoach said that "Now that we have beaten Canada, we can win gold" actually had some weight to it.

respectfully I think we'll have to agree to disagree here on the BPA thing as our mentalities towards it are different. Like I said to Lefty if it was easy then it would be happening all the time...and it just isn't. Sure the Oil now could dump a few young guys for D all in the while they could have drafted D in a few drafts out of the past ten. Then why hasn't Drouin been traded yet? Skinner? Yak? Eberle? So many young desirable talents still remain with their clubs and clubs have needs to fill. Sure it's easy for us all to sit in our chairs at home and dream this stuff up but for gm's to make a lot of this stuff happen in this era is very difficult. Again I don't think you understand...if it was this easy then all GMs would be doing it all the time..just isn't the case.
- LordHumungous

Most gms haven't crapped the bed long enough like Edmonton has. I didn't say they want to do this....most astute gms realize they need the young talent coming in. All I said was if any of them decide there willing to move there top prospect, trades can happen very quickly. Unfortunately for us ...most teams won't do that

Third worst drafting team since 2000 - therein lies the single greatest reason we're about to fall off a cliff. I know the team has been competitive over that time, but still, look who's number one and two.

Guys like Cassels Jensen Fox are fading off the hockey world cliff. I am very curious to see what happens with Tryamkin this year. It will be his first eligible year. His contract is up. Will he be a nice addition or another draft failure.
