The Sabres have been awful, and losing on purpose and my season ticket price still went up this year to $4250 PER SEAT!

Nose Bleeds are $1700 per seat.

People also probably make more money up there than they do here. Prices aren't universal.

This article made me dumber!

It was an awful article. People need to stop looking at graphs and charts and percentages when it comes to hockey. It's the most annoying garbage ever.

Dale Tallon is the man. I'm still salty about losing him in Chicago. Yes, these past few years worked out insanely well for us but that is largely in part of the groundwork that Uncle Dale laid here before he got the boot. He is an incredible GM and it's awesome to see him build another monster in South Florida.

Side note, Jagr . That guy is a monster and he should get another contract extension. Maybe two more years down there? Regardless, I've found my way onto the Panthers bandwagon these past few years. Here's to hoping the success on and off the ice continues. #JaromirForPresident #Jagr2016

I appreciate what Dale did in Chicago too, but he wanted to sign Havlat rather than Hossa.

He is an average at best GM. Sucking for 10 yrs will get you a Barkov, Ekblad etc. no credit given for Luongo. We were the only team he would accept a trade to. He has made his share of Bolland type deals as wll

If you're stating that the place was full of Canadian fans and Ranger fans because of those recent home games, that used to be the case and could still be argued, but not strongly. Sundays game vs. Minnesota drew 19k with virtually not a Wild jersey in the house.
-PanthersGoal

I think that, although there are not a lot of Wild jerseys in the audience, the spike could still be attributed to folks visiting from the North. I know that while in FLorida last year my parents went to games not featuring their teams... but went because it is:
a) a butt load cheaper than here
b) easy to walk up and buy
c) a "traditional" night out for them at home... so why not while abroad!

Happy to see fans back in the seats at Panther games. It was embarrassing last season when the Cats took it to the Ducks in front of a mostly empty arena. I don't think the Cats are for real (yet). I think they are this year's Calgary. They are living large off of ridiculously unsustainable goaltending and goal scoring. But enjoy it. They have a lot of the pieces necessary that they can add to and will be a big player in the NHL over the next several years.

There were more than 50% Ranger fans there. Way more. Not to pour gas on the fire but when a NY based team plays in that arena it's more NY fans than anyone else as we saw the last time you guys played them. Same with the Islanders when I was there last season. With that said it's a beautiful arena with awesome sight lines, great concessions, service, etc. The team looks awesome and I'm always rooting for these guys except when we play them (they have historically brutalized us and continue to do so).

Last season I got 2 center ice seats couple rows up for 50 bucks. If you ask me good for them enjoy it while you can when the price quadruples in the next couple years then you'll really have something to b!tch about. This guy writing blogs like this is just asking for the abuse. I mean he honestly makes your team like a bunch of scrubby b!thces begging for approval from the rest of the fan bases which is cringe worthy and completely unnecessary. Team looks awesome and eventually if they continue on that path the arena will be filled. Enjoy the cheap ticket prices while you can.

I don't understand your point. Chicago was pissed because he got them a cup but paid too much for Campbell. HE GOT YOU A CUP. Now that he has rebuilt Florida the best you got is he paid too much for Bolland. Unreal. And a team sucking for years doesn't mean you get an all star team. Ask Edmonton. Ask Florida since 1998. You need to make deals and get mentors for the kids. Florida is winning because he dealt for Jagr, stole Luongo, stole Pirri, and drafted team players.

If florida becomes a playoff team and wins a cup (big if I know) that means Dale took two losers and turned them into winners. That is a hall of fame GM.

Let me ask you and any other fan who thinks this how many Panther games have you watched this year and if you say more than a handful I'll call you a liar. Me, I've watched every one like I do every year because I pay a shytload for Center Ice on DTV to watch my Panthers in Illinois. I've watched them beat really good teams(like yours) and dominate play for the last 2 years. This year they've gone into arenas they would get killed in on a yearly basis and not only win but flat out dominate play for the majority of games. This team has the talent to compete with any team in the NHL today despite what people who watch 1 or 2 games think. They're biggest crutch was consistently playing their game and I think they've finally figured that out and that's why they've won 9 in a row. Obviously they can't sustain it but this team WILL make the playoffs and make some noise THIS year.

I think you are partially right.
They will likely make the playoffs. The Atlantic is pretty weak.
As for "making some noise"... They MIGHT make it out of round one.
Why do I say that?
Let's look at who else from the Atlantic will likely make it; Tampa, MTL, DET, & BOS are the most likely to make it. With those four and FLA it leaves one too many. IF the Panthers make it they will face one of those teams in the first round OR as a wild card team cross over and play the number one from the Metro division.
Honestly... I can't see them pushing any of the experienced teams listed above in the first round. If the cross over and play the Metro #1... yikes... could be ugly.
The thing is they are much like CGY last year. No expectations on them coming in, they've strung together a nice win streak. But (take it from a Hab Fan) a big streak does not make a season. Poop happens!

EDIT:
also, their shooting % right now is pretty high... have to imagine it will come down to earth

My brother in law can't give away his season tickets in vancity to anybody. None of his employees or friends want anything to do with going to a game when the product is sub par. 8 dollar warm arse beer does not help the cause either.

Losing. Because then it's all "MOVE THE TEAM YOU DON'T DESERVE TO HAVE THEM THERE."

Hell, I dealt with this poop on a daily basis as a Canes fan when the team was averaging 17,000 people per night. The willfull ignorance is strong in some circles. Very Very strong.

Neither. The simple fact is people are noticing the Panthers. For the better part of 2 decades they were ignored by the hockey world. Not anymore. Those criticizing are doing so because the Panthers are a threat. This fan is loving it.

Yeah, I knew this team was going to be good. Solid goaltending, elite young talent with a good mix of solid vets.
