Went to the Eichel signing today. The kid has a big heart and is very humble. After I had gotten my autograph, the guy behind me went up. He was a disabled veteran. After he got his puck signed, he asked an employee if he could buy an autographed 8x10 as well. The employee told him no so he had went on his way. During this exchange, it was obvious Jack was keeping tabs on what was being said. So while he is walking away, Jack calls the guy back over. He grabs an 8x10, signs it and gives it to this guy for free. Very impressive for a kid his age.

Why the (frank) wouldn't the employee let him buy an autograph isn't it his (frank)ing job to sell poop I would honestly sucker punch the dude in the face if I was there

I would like to say Sammy Watkins shut my mouth really good now all we need to do is draft a quarterback for some odd reason I just don't trust Tyrod Taylor I think you should have a backup plan

All due respect, this part of your post seems most accurate.

The kid is 19 yrsold. Give him the benefit of the doubt for a while, huh?

- Der Kaiser

I was, I said he seemed like a good kid, and the only negative thing was the drunk video. I was just being facetious when I said that the only reason he did it was for personal gain. But it's the internet, and it's hard to convey sarcasm. I am a cynical wiener, but he does genuinely seem like a good kid. And that was a cool thing for him to do, and a pretty Richard move from the guy who denied him.

Edit: Ok so my previous post was in bad taste, my bad. I've also been one of his most vociferous supporters all season long.

Same here, I just think it's the fact that we've been bitten so, so many times before. I'd really like to see him for one more year, and if he can keep it up or improve a bit on the intermediate passes like he showed on Sunday then I think we'll be set for 5 or 6 years.

I don't see any worth drafting in the second or third rd, as of now

I like Matt Moore, would be ok with McCoy

I am in a bit of a weird spot right now. On one hand I am pleased with the direction that the team is going in The young players look good and we are in every game. On the other hand I am starting to think about sneaking into last place again. Not directly wanting a tank like I did last year but not being upset if it happens.

Not sure this team has anything but a bottom 5 finish either way.

Mathews pick will come down to Anaheim, Buffalo, Edmonton, Columbus and Toronto.

That's probably true, although I've thought all along that things will start to kick in in the last third of the season.

That is what is kind of weird about it. I think it feels like that because we could finish last and still be very unlikely to get Mathews.

Pretty much anybody in the top 5 could help the Sabres almost immediately next season.

Are the two Finns eligible to come over right away or do they have their "military obligations"

Yup, and that is very exciting. It still isn't often pretty to watch but it alsmost feels like we are having it both ways (at least to those of us that aren't swallowing swords every day). The team looks better and we're still going to get another great prospect.

Picking near the top of the 2nd round sure wouldn't hurt either. Ditto the 3rd round.

I would love to know what they plan on doing with McGinn regarding the trade deadline.

Do they trade him for a pick like they did with Moulson while having every intention of signing him as a UFA?

I was thinking about McGinn as well. In one sense I think we're already overloaded with picks so I'd love to sign him now rather than try to get him back. He recently said that he was excited to come here because this was his kind of town - hopefully that feeling has grown. It can't hurt to have him frequently playing with 90.

If he expects legit 2nd line money, then trade him. If he's good with under $3m a year, then let him be ROR's sundance kid for years.

here is my take on McGinn

he is perhaps playing his best hockey ever

going to be 28 years old this summer

wonky back

I would try to sign him on a friendly 2 or 3 year deal, 3.5 to 4 per

if that doesn't work, ship him out by the deadline

ducks have turned it around, 20th overall now and currently 3rd in their division, thus making the playoffs

they will not end up a bottom 5 team
