Besides the hilarious comparisons to our team last year points wise or the emphasis on being "28th/29", you people have to realize that Sam and Jack are in their first NHL season. They will improve. A lot. It will happen.
(add Pysyk/McCabe here)

You know that player alone won't take us from 29th to top 5. Jack will. Sam will. Risto will. ROR, our 1st, Kane, Pysyk and McCabe will help.

Having a backup goalie for half of the season doesn't help in the standings (especially when teams are this close which you and others love to overlook). Whether Lehner is a stater or not can't be determined at this time and it's not impossible for him to be one despite what those of you who have written him off after half of a game seem to think. Even if he isn't, I believe one of your favorite sayings is "Top6 players are traded all the time, we didn't need to get Kane." Capable starters being traded isn't exactly rare.

Look up WAR rankings. (Wins above replacement)

It's a Stat that basically measures how many wins a players contributions can account for.

A healthy Steven Stamkos just added to a lineup can account for only 2-3 wins on his own.

How much better exactly do you think Risto is going to get? Or Eichel? He's already pretty damn good.

Also, we will always have injuries. Considering our best players (Eichel, O'Reilly, Risto) haven't missed a game, I'd say we have been pretty lucky

This claims second and third round picks give a team about a 33% chance at player that will become a NHLer.

By the 4th round, below 25%.

Yea I am sure the GM's know this, but I am not opposed to trading these picks away with roster players to get long term players in here. Drouin would be near the top of my list.

I understand your overall point but if Eichel does not improve further, he is not what he was said to be leading up to the draft.

I would say the tangible production, i.e. points meaning goals, should and will improve for both Eichel and Reinhart.

Eichel and Reinhart will get much better I agree. But guys like Risto or Pysyk probably won't get too much better.

11 points in last 7 games

that's dominating at the nhl level

Depth scoring is key

people are defending a player that had 6 goals in 90 nhl games yet critcizing kane who has 8 goals for us already this season. Any other year he would have 10 except for a video review rule change. I guess its just time to put the phone down and go for a walk or something. Grrr

How about only having 5 assists to go along with the 8 goals? He's been producing at a 3rd liners pace, all the while playing some of the most ice time in the NHL for a forward

Take away the top two players on any of the top teams for a whole season, I bet you they lose more than 6 games than they would if they had them. Add two players with the same skill level as Stamkos to our team and I bet you we're more than 6pts better than we are now.

I never mentioned Risto vastly improving and he is also not in his first season. Eichel has picked it up lately, his improvement would be doing it for the whole season. You also failed to bring up Sam or the D.

You also dodged the goaltending situation. Just having a starter right now would see us improved in the standings. Combine that with the future improvements of key/supporting players and we're looking pretty good.

I am old, and I recognize it. I know many of you are much much younger, so I ask this question to see how uptight I am compared to lots of you other people.

I have a couple of partners that flip houses and own rental properties. We're looking for our next project, and have been viewing a lot of 4 and 5 apartment properties, getting the landlord's permission to walk through the apartments.

The tenants all know that we're coming like a day or two ahead of time, and clean up the apartments to make them look pretty good. These are like $900 to $1500 per month places, usually with two to four roommates.

I can't believe the number of apartments we go through that have BONGS and weed wide out in the open.

Do people just not give a poop anymore about dope? Of course I had my own bong, once, and of course I smoked - alot - but I never made it obvious when "real grownups" were going to be around.

Am I crazy?
