I think this is a conditioning assignment. EDIT: I just read Yzerman said that is what it is. Plus they have 14Fs right now and he and Paquette are the only waiver eligible, Drouin goes down to play top line for Crunch.

But I agree Arty if they are going to trade him the only way I see Yzerman moving Drouin is in a package deal with Carle but I think the other team would have to take on the whole of Carle's contract considering they are getting Drouin at 1.5 years on his rookie deal and his RFA rights. But I could still see salary retention say 1MM if the return is big enough. Trade deadline for the Bolts will be real interesting.

I think, based on Tampa needs and cap, a 3 or 4 defenseman and a pick.

Actually I don't expect Tampa to make a move at all. I think Yzerman tells the young man and his ego maniac agent that has to go play in Syracuse and get better because we are not moving you.

But if they do move him, I can only see it where they make a package deal with Carle of some sort. The Lightning need CAP space and they have to move Carle to do that so a Drouin/Carle package is the only way I see Drouin moving. Better to keep him and his potential even if he is upset unless it helps the CAP space.
