What's not fine IMO is acting like he needed to make a couple of the moves he did. It's completely fair to criticize where we are right now.

Honestly don't mind that trade at all. I don't think McNabb has the success here that he's had in LA thus far. I think if you swapped Gorges with him you still have the issue of finding a true #1.

It may wind up looking like a bad trade if Fasching doesn't pan out but after watching this year I can see what Murray and other liked about him.

Being better than last season was inevitable. It's a really low bar to set.

Being 28th with adding Eichel, Reinhart, O'Reilly, Kane and McGinn is majorly underachieving IMO.

The rebuild started 3 years ago. This GM intentionally put us in this position to get Eichel. And yes it was the right move.

McNabb was largely a healthy scratch last year in the playoffs and during the season. Even former Sabres McBain is playing minutes over him. He is a fring 5/6th DMan in the NHL.

D-Lo is a skill battering ram and PERFECT 4th liner who can also score and move up lines when needed.

Oh.. and Fasching.. yea he has 14 pts in 15 games this season and 70 in 93 career games at Minnesota. He has gotten better stats every year at a power house school.

He is one of many potential top 6 forwards that will be here next year fighting for a roster spot with Bailey, Baptiste, Olofsson, Possler, and Karacabeck.

This is not a video game where you just sim 4 years until players are ready to play and are developed. Shut up, stop female doging, and be patient. THis team is built perfectly moving forward.

Not to mention that we might be lined up perfectly to get the top defensemen in this year's draft being probably Chrychun to add to Risto, Bogo, Pysyk, McCabe, etc.

You poll the NHL GM's about the upcoming teams that they are scared of in a few years and I guarantee Buffalo, PHX, and WPG are all up there. Young, talented, loaded with eager players and skilled vets (minus maybe PHX on some of those).

Kane has been here for 28 games with a brand new team coming off of a major injury. Lol... you are laughable to throw players under the bus so quickly. Bogosian was also injured as well and has just as good of stats as Myers does.... oh and Myers has NOT been injured at all and BOgo is just as well.

I can agree with that, but most of the players we gave up had similar issues regarding hockey iq as well. Right now the team is set up in a way that has made him a default 1st line/core player (like Vanek all those years).

I think once Eichel/Reinhart take the next step and/or O'Reilly is moved to the wing Kane will be put in a more comfortable position where his hockey iq won't hold him back.

Well, since I wrote that post I'll reiterate by saying...the last 2 years were the tear down...demolition, which more than technically does NOT qualify as part of the Rebuild phase. So you are completely wrong, as evidenced by the fact that this is the 1st year these new acquisitions actually wore Blue & Gold...save Bogo and Risto.

Now, further to the point, anyone who expected better results in the first 38 games should have their head examined, period. If you expect that team to be fighting for a playoff spot, you are delusional. Two rookies in their top 6, give me a break...Gionta and Moulson in the top 9...there you go.
Two more years of work to do before we are challenging for success in the playoffs.

We are on target, and on plan. Stay the course recognizing no one hits 100%.
