Hey Matt,

Thanks for the well thought out blog. I agree that Kassian is not a player you want around your team but for a very different reason. Your blog suggests that Zack Kassian the person (or human, or addict... or insert label here) can't change. He is a victim of his own choices and is doomed to a life of fukkuppery. I disagree. I think people can change and Zack has the potential as well. unfortunately he doesn't have much potential as a hockey player.

I've watched him since Windsor. He's never been fast, had a good shot or even basic puck handling skills. He's a goon. And like most goons he medicates. Can he be a tough guy and do it sober? That's the question he has to answer in order to get another shot at the NHL.

Is there still a place in the NHL for guys who play with an edge? Sure. Are the Oilers a better organization with ZK in the fold? Nope.

Kassian is certainly a DBag but Raffi Torres is/was by far the biggest scumbag in the NHL. And Matt Cooke was right up there with him.
