No one is taking Umberger. Even if they retain the max, he will still cost a team 2.3 million and no one is spending that for a guy who is basically a 12/13 forward at this point.

I'd sit Manning & Schenn. Both looked exceptionally bad last night. Medvedev also looked bad. Indecisive with puck, poor defense at points. Overall I like how he's played, but I've also given him a break for adjustment time. Well that is ending. He should be reaching a comfortable spot now.

The skills he has keep him dressed for me, but he needs to be better.

Definitely Manning. An argument can be made for Schultz, or L. Schenn to sit. Schultz has played better lately, prior to the last 6-8 games or so, he's been pretty bad.

Someone said earlier that Couturier was listed at 75 in scoring by centers. That same list has B. Schenn at 69. Also, had a bunch of other predominately wing players on the list. So take that for what it is worth.

Not at all. I think most of their problems last night were due to 2 things:

-Anaheim played perhaps their best game of the season
and
-missing Del Zotto really hurt and left a huge hole on D

The only other thing the game left me wondering is if Giroux is nursing an injury because he really didn't look like his usual self out there, nor did he for the last couple of games before the break.

I keep reading about how NOT GOOD the Blue Jackets are. A while back Hartnell was moved out in an alleged 'cap move', but others say Chief didn't feel like he wouldn't have full control in the locker room with Hartsy there. Is there a chance that a similar phenomenon is now happening in Columbus?

Not that we NEED centres, but is Johansen (with his age, size, skill and huge upside) someone the flyers should be looking into? Pretty solid 1 & 2 combo up the middle. Would anyone here be willing to give up a top D prospect (Morin, Sanheim, Ghost) plus some roster players (both schenns), coots, read to try and land this guy, or is HE part of the problem in CBJ?

Manning has played better than Schultz the past 10 games or so. Manning-Ghost were developing some good chemistry recently. Yes, ManDog didn't have his best game last night, but he did step up to defend a teammate and looked decent on PP2.

I would finally let Schultz have a well deserved break and give Schenn the night off as well(unless you are showcasing him for a trade). Therefore, we go with:

Schultz actually looked like their best defenseman last night. Manning was horrible.

In fact if Streit comes back, to me it's an easy decision to send ManDog up the Northeast Extension to Allentown.

I am hard pressed to imagine a scenario where they trade Simmonds right now given how many things he contributes to the team.

It would have to be an obvious over payment which I dont think happens.
