I'd really would rather have a amicable chat about the team, rather than fall into another round of prosecutor/defense attorney.

but for that to happen, i'd like to see that we won't be banging our heads against the wall and that neither of us are too entrenched in our respective positions to see any other sides to this.

so I will freely admit that the sixers have made some definite missteps (such as relying on kendall marshal, worten and Canaan to play the point this season), suffered some bad luck in the draft lottery, and other faults. The whole thing certainly has the possibility of failing completely.

But I do see some positives moving forward. As I think any logical fan would. I'd hope you are willing to admit that some aspects of the team, in terms of either talent on the roster or options to make trades/signings moving forward, are encouraging.


so instead of just repeating the same rhetoric that we've each been guilty of spewing on here, tell me who you like on this team, who you don't think is a fit...who you'd target in the draft or via trade/FA...

Whenever you get a quantity of very high draft picks, you have the potential to get lucky and pluck one of the superstars that you need to win with in today's NBA. It's a perimeter shooting game. You need guards and wing players who can shoot and break down people on the dribble. You can only choose from who is available, but to this point, the Sixers don't have much. Embiid may never play, but if he does, he could be a stud. Noel is a nice player, but not a player to build around. Okafor is a decent talent, but you're not going to build a championship team around him in my opinion.
The team has simply become an embarrassment. That's why the league stepped in. 3 years in to the tank, and they're no where. I've been posting for months that the team needs a point guard, and then Colangelo comes on board, and what happens? It's not exactly rocket science. Hinkie was incompetent in that regard. Players also have to develop in a healthy environment. The lack of veterans and role models on the team, was also a colossal mistake by Hinkie. Drafting a point guard who can't shoot in MCW, then trading him because he can't shoot. The mistakes go on and on.
Bottom line is that Hinkie is not really building a team, he's tearing down a team hoping to get lucky. Anyone can do that. You have to have some structure and a proper culture. That should be in place by now. Instead of just bringing in some other guys, I would've fired Hinkie. He's been that bad.
