The many Catholic Priests who committed long histories of child molestation, and the Church that covered it up for years...the same Church that projects itself as the protector of human life and dignity...well it waves its' hands, says Ya about that perspective...

Not that it matters and he could have done what he's being accused of but he has gone above and beyond of just being a model citizen. The timing of it just seems so off. But like the Patty Kane thing I will not play judge, jury or executioner until the facts come out.

Not sure if this will help anyone's interpretation of the Kane case or not, but while walking to the game one night last month or so, I saw Kane and his girlfriend walk out of the Marriott in HarborCenter. Maybe he takes up residence in there?

AGREED.
My post was about how one projects the self in the public eye, CAN BE much different than their actions in private. That's all my point is. It does not say Kane is a different person in that regard.
I do find it odd that he was downtown at a hotel at FNC when the team was playing a night game in Boston the night before.

Here's a thought for young folks ... Watch you backside, if you are rich you are then a target for unsavory people of all types...gamblers, predators of various kinds. Be smart and be aware.

Ok, that helps quite a bit then as far as understanding why he was down there at that time given the travel earlier that night.

With chartered flights, the teams go home right after the game. Boston to Buffalo is barely a 1 hour flight. The Sabres have been known to be home and out on the same nights/next mornings of road games on a lot of occasions. It's not uncommon.

I love the Buffalo News:

"Live coverage: Evander Kane to address media" as if it's some big story.

All Kane says is "I've done nothing wrong. I look forward to clearing my name. No further comment".

There are cameras everywhere down there. In the parking ramp and especially the hotel elevators. Those will be pulled. It's not like it happened at a private residence. Her entering and leaving will be huge in this case.

Well, I don't think anyone could have foreseen this. Pics demonstrating immaturity aare one thing, serious legal issues are another.
I hope Either Kane is gone before 2 years, or he learns how to properly play a puck possession game and not take random shots from 75 feet out causing turnover upon turnover. If he learns that aspect and changes his shot selection, he could be a terrific player...he can learn, whether he chooses to is another question.

Bogo I'm good with, you can have the 6'7" wussy.

Myers is in the top 20 in even strength scoring per 60 minutes for defense. He's been the most impressive player in this deal so far.

I'm hoping Kane finds a role as a consistent 20 goal 2nd line winger with grit that will be great in the playoffs. I just hope he stays clean

A friend of mine from a long time ago was a player agent for a while in the NFL, represented Shane Conlon. I also know a guy who is an agent in the NHL, and had some older guys whose names you would recognize, but who are no longer in the game.

The guy who represented Conlon says there isn't a single player in the NFL who doesn't have hidden video for exactly this purpose. (See the Hernandez trial, where it backfired.) The NHL rep told me his guys had been out of the game for too long for the technology to be feasible when they played, but he absolutely believed that is the prevailing practice today in all pro sports.

It will be interesting here, and Kane didn't have his own residence to set up a system in.

We differ in our respective opinions on Myers' play.
Offensive production is one thing, 1.

My opinion is he could far more effective playing a different game in his D-zone.
Opinions differ.

He did make 2 nice saves last night to preserve Winnipeg win. That was in the D-zone.

He's basically been their #1 for the last 10 games or so. He takes all the important D zone starts, has been playing the most minutes, and for the most part playing well.

With Risto being such a stud, I don't miss Myers here, what bothers me is that we traded IMO 4 good pieces (Stafford doesn't really count) and the best player we got in return was Kane (who many feel is overhyped)

I wish it were a Myers for Kane swap.

I also think his gf is in town for the holidays. This makes me think it would be very odd for him to have any other woman at his place.

So she could have been, but then he went to Boston, she may have left that day (Saturday).

Also, very interesting actually, only thing I know about the girl is she is 20. Just looked up his girlfriend (Mara Teigen) and she is 20. Very interesting.

Meh on the other parts, except for possibly of Lemiuex...I was looking forward to seeing him play. That said, I Can't remember, was Comphere a component in that trade...I think so, but I apparently have memory issues. If so, same for him..I wanted to see his play in the NHL. So those two ...
Armia, not so much, definitely goodbye to Staff...and Myers I expected far and away more from...especially since I thought the intended long-term D-men were a soft group and needed some toughness added.

Compher was part of the O'Reilly trade. The Kane trade was Stafford, Myers, Armia, Lemieux and a 1st for Kane, Bogo and Kasdorf.
