Agree can't see anyway it would make sense to trade him. |

If CGY trades Bennett for RyJo it would be a move of impatience. Bennett could very well be better than Johansen but need to be patient for a few years. I can't see CGY trading away their highest draft pick ever. |

Would Calgary be willing to part with Hamilton? If there is some kind of a deal there I think that's the guy Columbus would want. No idea what a potential deal would look like or if Calgary would even go for it, but that's what I think the base parts would be. |

Of course the big question is why is RJ available ? The beat writer for the blue jackets was on the fan a couple weeks ago and said he only shows up about half the time. There's no doubting his talent but that scares me. - tincup
He probably only wants to play hockey!
Being told to cheap shot, cross check illegally or just be a grub every game probably doesn't appeal to his professional sportsmanship personality! |

Bennett, Hamilton, Brodie, Gio aren't going anywhere and I think it goes without saying JH and monny are safe too. Not just ek but a few other sites and forum put Calgary in the mix and for johansen and for Russell, wideman, backlund, hurdler. Now if Columbus would even be interested in those players who knows but I don't think there would be this much talk if they weren't. I'll put links below. I know it might be tough for some of you to understand but when a player is not wanted on a team and every other team in the league knows that you aren't going to get close to what the player is actually worth. If RJH does get traded it will be for a lot less then you all expect.

Vrbata last year he was worth a 1st. this year a 2nd and maybe a B prospect.
Hamhuis last year worth a 1st, 3rd and B prospect. this year a 2nd and B prospect
I could go on. Time to cut your losses. Wish the best for Hammer. hope he's doing well. |

Yes of course, oiler fans are idiots.
But u offer Russell, a bottom 6 forward and a prospect
For a young number 1c.
I'm sure they'll jump all over that.
While we're at it, u wanna trade me a 100$ dollar bill for 2 twenties and a ten?
And u can love Bennett all u want and maybe he will be better, but johansen is the superior player today by a lot.
He's 6'3, 220 and has seasons of 63 and 71 already. And is on pace for almost 70 again. And he's only 23.
So don't start espousing Bennett as a superstar and anyone who doesn't know it is an idiot. Flames fans who watch him all the time probably see his potential, and that's fine. But it's not like he's some household name that's worth whatever superstar u want.
So you wanna be the pot or the kettle? - HB77

Habs gave him 1 chance..and he didn't even get past pre-season....classy, like trading Cammy in between periods - Garnie
So everyone knew Z liked to party. So MTL trades for him. Not much partying in that town. I heard the nightlife sucks there. Z will be fine.

Eller was in the deal as a salary dump, as was Emelin, without those 2 contracts going back the deal could not happen.... you say McCarron and a 1st and I said McCarron, Tinordi and Fucali, doesn't seem that far off - obie
Btw, I'm enjoying replying to all these knowing the thread is dead.
So....
A decent propsect
A later 1st
A possible bust Dman
A who knows, prospect goalie
for a #1 C 23 yr old with numbers already.
hmmm I'd have built a team of allstars by now if thats all it cost to acquire a player like RyJo |
