more than 10mm...gagner, vinny, amac, and umbegrer......good lord that is comical
- rinaldo

Gagner and Umberger bring on earlier cap relief than they would have gotten with Pronger and Hartnell so I wouldn't lump them in there. Vinny and Amac in the AHL....yep I am with you

THat is the reason why I am wondering why the 893k became the number they had to clear. I do not see how that is the case if they can remain cap compliant on a daily level by waiving manning
- YuenglingJagr

Who said they can remain cap compliant on a daily level by waiving Manning?

I showed you the math. Feel free to show where you think I went wrong.

I think that was directed to the fact that the Flyers have had really good rookies but they have never won the Calder.
- nastyflyergirl

Actually it was directed at there being this big conspiracy and hatred towards the Flyers franchise, that the NHL will never give the Calder to a Flyers player. The NHL gave a Flyer the Hart trophy 3 times during the heyday of the Broad Street Bullies.

...by adding all of the players cap hits for the season. like i said...those numbers on NHLnumbers seem to make assumptions like performance bonuses and such. It says it right at the bottom that there is .725 that can move to next season

No, they don't. It's in the ball park. I added it all up in my post. There is a bonus cushion in effect for every year of the current CBA. They take that into account.

Here is all I can tell you. I'm not an expert on the cap. I dabble in it as an amateur "capologist" It's certainly possible I made a mistake or overlooked something. I believe the number I gave is in the ball park. If you feel differently, post up some numbers and I'll look at it.

Well at least you are admitting that. I am not claiming to be a cap expert either...there is only a certain amount of info that we have at our disposal, but I am trying to understand it along with everyone here. The way I understand it, that 893k is not a hard number. It moves based off of who gets called up and due to performance bonuses.

NHL numbers is clearly factoring some kind of performance bonus for Laughton and Ghost. If you remove mannings salary and add Streit...it does fit under the cap, which is all that would be needed for now.

I made a mistake in what I typed for MacDonald. It should say 3,941, not 4,941. Good catch.

At least you finally got there...

removing gotstobehere would have a detrimental effect on this team imo...doesn't matter if it is a paper move or only one game...it sets a bad example.

Medvedev's post game interview:
This interview was taken after the "Blues" game on 12/21/15.

EM: We only played together on the national team. I know well his qualities. I tried to play very meticulously against him. He has a very food shot. It’s very quick and sudden. I did my best to minimize a number of these shots.

NB: 3 day Christmas brake is coming.

EM: It’s good for me. I will have some time to rest, to spend with my family at home. I am confused- it’s Christmas time, but it’s 20 degrees outside (70 F). I have not ever celebrated Christmas in t-shirt.

Thanks. I'm a fan. I often say Tarasenko has a food shoot. And people sometimes look at me funny. Eat it now, people! Also, we're all confused by the warm weather since that whole changey thing is a big conspiracy. Welcome to 'merica, Medvedev!

That number is the cap picture right now, in looking at what the Flyers need to do to reactivate Streit, and to remain cap compliant.

Like I said, if you think I'm wrong, post up some numbers and how you got there, and I'll take a look.

I don't know why you would think it would be some kind of future cap prediction, unless you're not following the conversation.

Umberger is gone after next season and I will gladly take that 5 million. Obviously Hartnell is the better player but I hated his contract term the moment it was announced. My main issue with the trade was that I thought the Flyers should have gotten a 2nd rounder instead of a 4th rounder

In all seriousness.. If the Jackets were to try to move him at the deadline, dont you think they would be able to get at least a 2nd rounder?

I already did. It is a future cap number cause performance bonuses do not have to be on this years cap. You are suggesting they need to comply with a certain number to activate Streit while accounting for performance bonuses from Ghost and Laughton
