Clarke won both, lindros won Hart also. No art Ross or rocket Richard though.

The Ghost callup has absolutely transformed this team. Ghost is green and raw and makes his share of defensive miscues but you can see him learn from each game. He's trying new things, stepping up, breaking up plays and still has his offensive side of the puck game on lock.

Sending him back to the A is laughable.

The officiating is just awful this year! I'm not sure if it's the league mandating how the games are called, or just incompetence by the officials! This brings up another point......PLEASE GET RID OF THE DAMN INSTIGATOR RULE!!! When I was kid, if someone took liberties with one of my brothers, I beat the hell out of them! Funny, but they didn't do it again. Somehow, it's the only language some people understand. You don't need to be a thug to take care of business. Back in the day, that's how your premier players were protected. Now we have to rely on a league that subjectively applies stupid rules!!! DUMB policy!!

Personally think it'd be a mistake to send ghost back down. He's doing well, making mistakes and learning from them, he looks confident. And the flyers as a whole have played better since his callup. I don't think it'd be detrimental to him or his development to send him back down, but I do think he'd benefit more so from staying with the big boys.

Yup, can't argue with the job Hexy has done to date. And things will loosen up a bit financially just as a few more prospects are ready (hopefully) to make the jump to the NHL. And with the Flyers playing better than expected this season with a patchwork D and a few bad/unmovable contracts, enduring this season has become a lot more enjoyable.

Yes it has. Although some would argue that it'd be better to finish as a lottery team, I think we're better off getting the young guys playoff race experience if not playoff experience.

I think that it's good to let them finish where they may and base trade decisions on realistic expectations.

If you're squeaking in as a wildcard with a slew of kids, might be a good idea not to trade picks for a depth guy. Of course if you're at that stage at the TDL, you might want to keep a vet like Streit.

At the very least they're an entertaining team with a bright future and who could make some noise this year if they keep it up.

EM: We were losing last game 0:2 too, but managed to get even up and lost by penalty shots, That speaks to the character of this team. We have a back bone, and I expect only better things moving forward. We have to start playing better from the beginning of the game. It’s difficult to salvage every game like this. We waste too much energy doing that.

NB: You were very emotional after you scored a winning goal.

EM: It has accumulated. I had made plenty of mistakes before, it’s time to improve. I can’t say that I have completely acclimated to the pace of the game yet. But I am trying to improve with every game. As for emotions, it did feel great! I am very happy that the team won, I am thankful to my partners for affording me such a chance. And please understand- that was my first game winning goal in the NHL. I am very happy that we overcame 0:3 score.

NB: What mistakes are you talking about?

EM: I had had them before this game.

NB: You joined the attack because you saw an opening in “Blues” defense, didn’t you?

EM: They gave me the opportunity. I had open space, open ice. I acted according to the situation. I was waiting for the pass from White, saw that the goalie moved forward and elevated the puck.

NB: You did not have a good beginning of the season. You had missed a few games being a healthy scratch. Do you feel that you have already adapted to the North American hockey?

EM: Yes, I can confidently say that I have completely acclimated to the game. The coaches help me with agility training. I manage.

EM: It was a good experience for me. I studied the game from above. I studied video, evaluated my mistakes and shortcomings. I also evaluated my strengths and what I needed to capitalize on. I do not regret anything. It’s even better that it has happened that way. I have benefited from that.

THat is the reason why I am wondering why the 893k became the number they had to clear. I do not see how that is the case if they can remain cap compliant on a daily level by waiving manning

Both times, they lost to players in bigger (but not necessarily better) markets.

Hextall lost to Luc Robitaille, who was a Hall of Famer, so it's not nearly as bad as Steve (frank)ing Vickers.
