Don't know if he was. But I would think he would have to be in order to play in the next game.

If the NHL already knows that was the plan, I just worry about the team getting hit with a cap penalty of some kind. The team cant lie, that is dangerous.

Was Hextall really recently quoted about possibly sending ghost back down?

That's not going to happen.

Well the first period was ugly, and certainly the break away goal given up in the 2nd. After that, it was actually a thing of beauty. Once the Flyers woke up and responded, they actually pushed the Blues around, and took over the game.
- MJL

Hardly an ugly win.

They've been playing a pretty consistent brand of hockey minus a period here or there lately. Hopefully they can keep it up after the break.

Exactly. Compared to last season and the month of November, they have been playing well lately for the most part. Still not championship caliber, but way more competitive.

Unlike most of last year, the games are not a chore to watch. I'll take that, any day, over last year.

While certainly a possibility....it leaves Vinny as the 13th forward

If a forward got hurt, you could waive Manning and bring up Colin MacDonald without having to use LTIR.

As long as I know, waived player doesn't need necessarily to be sent down.. (see Zherdev)

I believe that that is correct. If you want to demote a player, he first has to pass through waivers, but you don't need to demote him. However, if you don't demote a player, I don't think you get the cap savings.

it's pretty apparent that he is ready for full time duty in the NHL. It's great when a team wants to be cautious, but sometimes a player simply plays his way on to the team. Lets be honest...he has been the Flyers best overall D man since he arrived back in November. There are other moves that Hextall can make ...trades...demotions...waivers....who Knows how he does it...But you don't send down one of your better players...who has earned his time.

It's funny sometimes going into another teams thread. The refs favored the Flyers. The Flyers interfered with a player going off the ice, that's why the Blues got the too many men on the ice penalty. The Blues defense stinks.
