I need a day to do this. I have a super busy day tomorrow.

Going to the game in the afternoon (get to sit in a suite for the 1st time ever), then your party, then heading to DD's party, then a Christmas gathering at the local watering hole. I then have to get up and be presentable by 11 am on Sunday for a Bridal shower. By Sunday at 2pm, all I'm going to want is to go back to bed.

EDIT: Oh, and there's 4 of us coming tomorrow, in case you need a headcount.

Hopefully they start with the players and we somehow get a piece

Interestingly, Anaheim and Buffalo are both bottom in the league in salary (24th and 25th respectively). Pegula's willing to spend to the cap and we have 8.9M in space. Next year we have 8 forwards, 4 defensemen, and 2 goalies signed with 24.75M in space. Risto needs a new deal, Girgensons as well, and so does McCabe. Foligno, Larrson, Deslauries, Colo, and Weber are the others on that list.

Estimating each player based on my 100% guesses:
Risto: 6.5M
Girgs: 3.5 M
McCabe: 3M
Deslauries: 2M
That leaves us with 9.7M in space (If the cap doesn't rise), 10 F, 6 D, 2 G. That's almost 10 million to spend on a scoring winger or two and a defenseman. If we resign McGinn to a similar contract to what he has today (2.95M) then we're left with 7M.

Point being, we can still take on a player who has a contract that isn't the best and not kill us next year. Eichel, Reinhart, and Kane all need new contracts by 2019, so a player with a "bad" contract for the next 3 years might be a way to go.
